We’re speaking about something, he’s putting me on hold for two seconds and you’re hearing him take the time to speak to Rumi or Blue about something that might be small to him, but he’s taking out the time to really, really explain to them how it’s going to be okay. Just stopping everything to make them a priority, no matter what the phone call is about. I really admire that. Most people go in another room. Every time I see him or speak with him, he’s taking the kids to school, he’s picking the kids up, he’s doing homework with them, he’s eating dinner with them. I see him all the time in that same energy jumping off the phone, like: I got to go, I got to do this with the kids, Blue has a game, this one has that…. It’s super impressive to see. And it stands out even more because he’s got the world on his shoulders, and those kids don’t miss a beat without him in their lives, no matter what he had going on. That’s what I witnessed, that’s for sure. You know, he’s very family centered. He has a great relationship with his mom, his grandmother, his wife. His mother’s awesome, his grandmother’s awesome. A beautiful family, powerful women. I think he’s just focused on the next generation, honestly. He had a hell of a time—he’s still having a hell of a time. But I think he’s definitely preparing these kids to graduate them to the next level, to hold the torch even higher than he and his wife are holding it for them. Me and him, we talk about life. We don’t really talk about music, unless there’s something that’s sticking out. Or me trying to get him to go back in the studio one last time. Which I won’t bug him too much about because it makes him go farther away from it. So I just hint at it sometime, like, “Man, you know if you did this, it would be great.” “Yeah... Engineers in Kenya built a tunnel underneath a highway to reconnect a centuries-old elephant migration route that had been cut off by new construction.
Then they had to figure out how to get the elephants to actually use it.
Workers lined the entire inside of the concrete tunnel with fresh elephant dung to create a familiar scent trail. A bull elephant named Tony followed it through first, then led his entire herd to the other side.
The tunnel is fourteen feet high. The migration route is hundreds of years old.
