Oh yeah! I've spoken to a few consultant Neurosurgeon and SRs and I learned that NS can be unbelievably lucrative because of the insane demands. You can make ridiculous amount of money if you choose to work and hustle in the big cities. Especially if you invest heavily in getting post fellowship training. So it's a good bet.

I’m just reminiscing on when I was still in college of law, during exams and occasionally, my babe would cook food and buy groceries to come give me from college of medicine. My hostel mate could testify how intentional my babe is. I’m grateful for the gift of him.

@ThatCruiseMedic Telling you brother. It's even worse in some school. Some school graduate student in 10 years even without a resit or extra year or repeat. I always say it. Number of years spent in medical school doesnt make anyone a better doctor. Infact it reduces your real on medicine.

Saw the Medical induction flyer from BUK(Bayero University Kano) and couldn't hide my disappointment. Class of 2023 graduating in 2026, that's 3 solid years of being behind. 3 years that's could have been used to do HJ, NYSC and even start residency. I will keep saying it, medicine should be 6 years and there is no flex in keeping medical students beyond the accredited year by JAMB.

@ThatCruiseMedic All plan bore down to money. If there is cash you can be at ease to prepare for exam and pass and get married and leave. Na money dey hinder man. And the profession won't give you such chance to make fast money to easily Japa and it's sad.

@Doctorfredostar @Dr_Afo The best is to carry everything along. Especially residency if Japa is the goal.

I know of a very senior colleague who wrote plan 1 and passed. Wrote plan 2 and failed, then went ahead to get married and they gave birth to a child. Since then he has been unable to even save for plab 2 and it has been over 8years of writing the exam. You can get married but since children just leave them first unless your Japa is a long term thing.
