@Bbbn192 I have been using store named attribute to capture the matrial index and then set material index again after the simulation zone as a workaround to it. It would be nice to get this in blender before the development pauses.

@gleb_alexandrov The geometry nodes object can be exported as .USD file and imported back to get the volume data, the object needs to be a volume object for it to export VDBs. It does not work if the geo nodes object is a mesh. This can also be used to export VDB sequences if it is animated.

Question: is there a way to collapse the volume, generated in #geometrynodes , in a similar way to how the mesh can be collapsed by applying the modifier? Or exported to VDB? I used the Points to Volume node to generate this nebula, now looking for a way to optimize it. #b3d

@3D_director Oh, thats a typo. Its a group with attribute capture nodes on Curves To Mesh to get the UVs. I'd been using that node group for so long without noticing the typo. 😅

@lasthespoke I did not have looping animations in mind when I made the system. Looping it is going to need changes to how the system works, I'm thinking of adding it on the next update.
