Eid in the Park is not taking place this week due to concerns for the environment at Platt Fields. It has NOT been cancelled due to pressure from the far right but will be back this May!

This week, I had the privilege of organising a community Iftar at school, alongside an incredible group of staff and students. The event was led by our students, who confidently hosted and shared their experiences, a great turn out and that sense of belonging! Soo proud. ❤️

A really uplifting doorknock session in Moss Side with so many friendly conversations on the doorstep. Joined by MP Afzal Khan, Moss Side Councillors @ErinmaBell, @MahdiTaarwale and @Esha4MossSide, Hulme Councillors @AnnetteWright and @Lee4Hulme, and our wonderful local members.

Councillor @MahdiTaarwale arranged a Hate Crime Awareness Week event, in his capacity as a Manager for SASCA. The event was attended by community members and partners including @gmpolice, @ManCityCouncil’s Community Safety Team, housing associations, @OneMcr and @MSVHousing. 👏🏼

A very productive Moss Side branch meeting took place last night at the Greenheys Adult Learning Centre, with local councillors and Moss Side Labour members in attendance. We discussed key concerns within the community, the upcoming local elections, and our campaign plan. 🙏🏼🌹

I attended the IAG meeting at Longsight Police Station yesterday alongside key community members and local councillors. We discussed growing concerns about the rise in hate crime in the city. It was reassuring to hear the proactive steps @gmpolice are taking to address this. 1/2
