@lorxell Yep. And I meant to say THEY WERE meant to be silly. Ennis has a deep contempt for superheroes. It was clear during his Punisher run. Especially the way he wrote Wolverine … which is one of the funniest things you’ll ever read.

The boys show btw. Who sits down and name a super hero character “HomeLander”? “Black noir” but noir means black in French, so his name is just black black ?

I forgot there was a black character on M*A*S*H nicknamed “Spearchucker.” The 70s were wild.

@comicbookaddt Yes. Epic arc. For a comic that just lost Todd McFarlane, this is how you roll.

@DonalTDeLay If they ever do THE LAST RONIN, I’d love live action using a replica of the original 90s suit.

@otisframpton Meta, on the other hand, has made great technological strides in creating platforms for children to bully each other to death and digital hunting grounds for predators. And, the Apple Pencil is fire.

@comicbookaddt I agree. It was pretty dope. We got DBOX seats and the ship scenes were a hell of a ride. Made me excited for summer movie season.

@MorbidKnowledge The food drive part of this story was crazy too. When her parents tried to fulfill the SLA demands, the rushed distribution turned into full-blown rioting across the Bay Area, which just added to the surreal media circus at the time.

In 1974, Patty Hearst was dragged screaming from her apartment and thrown in the trunk of a car. Fifty-nine days later, she was robbing a bank with the people who kidnapped her. On the evening of February 4, 1974, armed members of a radical group burst into a Berkeley apartment, beat up 19-year-old Patty Hearst's fiancé with a wine bottle, threw her in the trunk of a car, and drove away. She was the granddaughter of newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst. The SLA knew exactly who they had taken. The Symbionese Liberation Army had already shot two Oakland school officials, ki*ling one. They began releasing audiotapes demanding food distribution to the poor in exchange for Hearst's release. Her parents distributed $2 million worth of food across the Bay Area. The SLA refused to release her. Then came the tape that stunned America. Fifty-nine days after her kidnapping, Hearst announced on tape that she had chosen to join the SLA and fight, taking the name Tania after a comrade who had fought alongside Che Guevara in Bolivia. The Hibernia Bank robbery occurred shortly afterward on April 15, netting $10,692 and resulting in two bystanders being shot. Security camera footage showed Hearst holding an assault rifle and ordering customers to the floor, announcing "I am Tania." Six core SLA members were ki*led in a Los Angeles police raid in May 1974. Hearst was not there. She spent the next year on the run. When she was finally arrested in September 1975, she told the booking sergeant her occupation was "urban guerrilla." Represented by F. Lee Bailey, she was convicted of armed bank robbery and sentenced to seven years. President Carter commuted her sentence. President Clinton gave her a full pardon on his last day in office. She later described it as Stockholm Syndrome.
