Fantastic to sponsor Plantlife's reception on restoring grassland @Love_plants Over 97% of the UK’s species-rich grassland has been lost in under a century. So it was encouraging to meet many people passionate about reviving our grassland, like the Chair of Natural England🏞️

Heading to Westminster today to big up grasslands and aim for getting that Grassland Action Plan made a reality! Species rich/Waxcap grasslands are so vital and need recognition, restoration, renumeration and real protection @Love_plants @ChrisGPackham

It's the 1st of May! That means the start of #NoMowMay Lots of things popping back up in the lawn, with another successful Yellow Rattle year it seems! Doesn't have to be your whole lawn, or even your garden, could be a verge or green space near you @Love_plants @ChrisGPackham

More of the Early Spider Orchids (Ophrys sphegodes) doing their best to attract male bees with their hairiness, ‘wings’, ‘eyes’ and even (apparently) mimicking the pheromones of a female bee 🐝 @BSBIbotany @wildflower_hour

Kenilworth Castle in the low sunshine of a November afternoon. It’s witnessed a lot of change and drama. It’s where I go sometimes to clear my head and work out my priorities.

@Gardening_Miss @Love_plants These are Inkcaps. Inkcaps tend to be brown or grey, with dark gills as the spores are black. Waxcaps always have white spores, so tend to have pale and waxy gills. They are often bright colours like orange, red and yellow. Hope this helps.
