Deepstaria is a genus of jellyfish with thin, sheet-like bodies. It uses its whole body to catch prey, enveloping victims and then cinching itself shut. What looks like an enchanting glowing heart is actually a parasitic red isopod living inside the bell. From @nautiluslive

Love @Join_ZOE info on Omega oil. We know farmed salmon are bad for the environment, ZOE say it's bad for us too. However, we'd love ZOE to rethink krill. Humans don't need krill but whales do - the ocean environment is struggling. Please support the ocean & say no to krill.

A whale carcass creates excitement and enthusiasm from the @nautiluslive team. When a whale dies, it supports a succession of marine biological communities. Whale fall provides a concentrated food source or deep sea organisms. @nautiluslive from 2019 in Monterey Bay
