BREAKING: New numbers show the strongest growth in our economy in almost three years. The Australian economy grew 0.8% in the December quarter, to be 2.6% higher through the year - this growth is much stronger, broader and very welcome. This is faster growth than any major advanced economy. Economic growth is picking up, business investment is strengthening, more than 1.2 million jobs have been created, unemployment is low, and participation is at near record highs, but we know there are big challenges too.

Every time he’s asked about productivity, Jim Chalmers passes the buck, pointing to the Coalition’s time in govt years ago. It’s true productivity growth has slowed for some time. But compare the pair: only under this government has productivity gone backwards, by more than 5%.

A regular tactic by #insiders is to interview a member of the opposition whenever an issue arises, this time in childcare, to blame the government for letting it happen. Yet, this mob did nothing when in government, and the media gave them a free pass.

I’m confident that the leadership team of Angus Taylor and Jacinta Nampijinpa Price has the conviction and courage to make a real contest of the next election. It has the fight and drive to hold the government to account for its mistakes and to offer the Australian people change for the better.

#insiders is quick to divert attention away from Labor's historic landslide victory and focus on the party's factions. If a front bench member had to be demoted from the LNP after a big election win, it would be a non-issue.
