Kyankwanzi Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred today at approximately 5:00 a.m. @mkyakabuga along the Hoima–Kiboga Road. The crash involved two vehicles: UBQ 595G, an Isuzu bus & UBF 541C, a Fuso Fighter truck. The two vehicles, which were traveling in opposite directions, were involved in a head-on collision that resulted in a fire that burnt both vehicles. 6 people were pronounced dead at the scene, including 4 occupants of the Fuso Fighter 2 occupants of the bus, including the driver. 7 other victims sustained injuries & were rushed to a nearby health facility for medical attention. @PoliceUg

Statistics continue to remind us of the high fatality rates among motorcyclists. Too often, lives are tragically cut short or permanently altered due to head injuries sustained in crashes. Research consistently shows that wearing a helmet properly can reduce the risk of death by nearly 40% & the risk of serious head injury by up to 70%. Today, we gathered for the validation of the Helmet User Guide a document that goes beyond being just a booklet but a lifesaving tool. The guide provides clear, practical & standardized information on the correct selection, use & maintenance of quality crash helmets. It emphasizes that helmets should not be seen merely as traffic compliance items, but as essential protective gear, a vital shield between life & death. We appreciate the collaboration of government agencies, civil society organizations, development partners & the private sector in developing this guide. Due to a fatal crash that occurred today, 29th August 2025, near Victory Church, Seeta along the Kampala–Jinja Highway, involving 4 vehicles (a bus, 2 trucks & a concrete mixer), traffic flow has been disrupted. The crash has blocked the highway in the affected area. Additionally, due to increased traffic expected because of the football match at Namboole Stadium, the situation is further compounded.
