Jared Conley, @jconleymd an emergency medicine physician at @MGHMedicine and @harvardmed, said that expanding access to SNF-at-home will ease the need to board patients in the emergency department — often dozens of people each night.

Demand for SNF-at-home will continue to grow as the silver tsunami of baby boomers reach 65, along with skyrocketing rates of obesity and chronic diseases like diabetes and heart failure, said Katherine Piette, @Corstrata, a virtual care-at-home agency.

Drobac said #Medicaid has spent decades building expertise in home- and community-based care, and #policymakers at the state and federal level need to recognize the #value of acute care services in the #home for Medicaid beneficiaries.
