@W_B_Rick I have a feeling Data center fights will end up like this. The people will be worn down into submission and quit. Don’t let your favorite team and city get bent over and you accept

I am officially opting out of following the Bears stadium discourse. I don’t care anymore. Someone just let me know where I get to go watch 18 throw a football.

@Chicago_NFL @MichaelGus57 Then you’d put why the Senator said this. It even looks worse now that more info came out. Either way it’s tiresome. Just pick a location.

@MichaelGus57 Imagine where we’d be with good ownership? I got my eyes on the Sox after Ishiba takes over. If they take off, maybe people will stop worshiping the shit owners this city has.

@Moxter3 The football changed in spite of leadership because the coach is just that good. Nothing else did, but Ben should get a blank check because he’s the sole reason there isn’t a full on mutiny.

Ben Johnson is really a savior man. He is the only reason that there isn’t an overwhelming amount of rage coming directly at Bears ownership from this fanbase. Regardless of how this stadium thing ends it’s the newest and best example of what a cluster F top brass is.

@scotsdalesteve @CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO No, I said you benefited from a system that did well for you and are bitching about it after leaving. The high property taxes you complain about paid for the living wage you used to better yourself. Why weren’t you a public employee in Az or Indiana?

Well, you inferred that giving public money to private businesses is something nobody should want. But it happens on a massive scale that you ignored which proved your point to be cherry picked. My original point was- it’s better business for the bears to move to Indiana and Illinois politicians are orchestrating political theater while Indiana orchestrated political action to get things rolling

Fans looking to blame #DaBears about the traffic study not being done at this point aren’t fully understanding… A traffic study is going to cost a minimum of $100,000 and could be upwards of $500,000+. Furthermore, most jurisdictions won’t accept data that’s 1 to 2 years old. It’s a good thing they didn’t do the study early in the process since it has taken IL over 3 years to finally make a push to even talk about property tax certainty. Which then points to the why would they pay for an extensive traffic study when there has been so much uncertainty surrounding the Bears stadium site in Arlington Heights? The Bears aren’t blameless in this situation but the bigger fault still falls on the politicians (both sides) who refused to take this seriously for too long in an attempt to blackmail the Bears into covering a Soldier Field renovation debt that isn’t even their burden to bear.
Ben Szalinski@BenSzalinski

“Cunningham said the state has been experiencing ‘headwinds’ in negotiations, and those obstacles have only been ‘strengthened’ because of the outreach (to the city) by the Bears.” And the Bears haven’t done the traffic study for the infrastructure money… 10 days to go…

@scotsdalesteve @CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO So Illinois is willing to do business with private businesses? Which would mean this is a bears issue? Which was the point of the original post. I’m glad we got here. You just confirmed our point.

@Moxter3 @CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO Illinois gave out $12.5 billy to private business last year alone. None of it to our favorite football team. Are you good with that money going to THOSE businesses? Which ones do you think should vs shouldn’t get those breaks?

@scotsdalesteve @CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO The Bears aren’t getting out. All of the income taxes will still go to Illinois. Property taxes are set by local governments, not the state. Despite being wildly successful, here’s one thing that has no correlation and clearly doesn’t hurt businesses as they still do it here

Yeah Illinois only sucked after I left 😂. What you’re getting wrong here is that I think the bears should move to Indiana too. The state is a mess and 1- the bears should get out 2- funding should go elsewhere Why? Bc despite producing the 5th largest GDP by state, and having the 2nd highest property taxes, Illinois politicians continue to fumble the bag (worst political scene in the country outside of Cali)

@CalebWilliamsPR @scotsdalesteve @ChiRuxinBGO Basically I took advantage of being paid a living wage that afforded me the ability to move to Arizona but now that I’m gone Illinois sucks. Just nonsense.

@scotsdalesteve @CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO Same cooperation worked for the soccer stadium. Also worked for a lot of other businesses that come here. “Business friendly” just means tax subsidies. Even the businesses that move their HQ, still do business here. Why would they do that if this place is horrible?

@Moxter3 @CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO When the business you’re doing relies on political cooperation, you still think it’s a fine state to do business? You think working with Illinois politicians is “fine”?

@scotsdalesteve @CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO The Bears are still very much a mom and pop shop. Soccer stadium is already being built. Illinois is fine to do business in. Bears should take their “great deal”. Why haven’t they? The state would be fine. They are still head quartered here so the tax loss would be small.

Lol so you’re concerned about business ethics? Or the bears not jumping on a great deal? IL is an absolute pit to do business in and the bears know this and are lucky that the states incompetence is on full display. For years fans have complained about being a Mom n pop shop- not anymore.

@CalebWilliamsPR @scotsdalesteve @ChiRuxinBGO Not one Bears fan thought the Mccaskeys were shrewd business owners before all of this. Most hated them. Now they are acting like they are competent and can do no wrong. It’s crazy.

@CalebWilliamsPR @scotsdalesteve @ChiRuxinBGO The Bears are reliant on the above fans to carry their water without looking into how inept they have been at every turn(not just the stadium). The smartest thing KW did was make this political. He knew how easy he could get people on his side.

@CalebWilliamsPR @ChiRuxinBGO It’s crazy that they keep giving it to him. Not willing to spend 500k but wanting nearly a billion in taxpayer money is why it’s taken 5 years. People will just give the Bears a pass. Just like they have for 50+ years.

@ChiRuxinBGO Counterpoint: I think if you are asking for millions in taxpayer money you owe it to the public to do your due diligence. Simply no excuse for not doing that at this point, and I don’t know what in this process Kevin Warren has done to earn the benefit of the doubt

@Maestermagoo They have 3 lines. It handles lollapooza, St Patrick’s day etc relatively easily. Just stop yapping. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Ogilivie is massive and that’s assuming every fan goes all the way into the city(they won’t). They’ll run express every 15 min

@Moxter3 And how frequently do you calculate trains need to run to service the station? And to do that on the one line, how do you get all those trains there on time?

@Moxter3 Great. Ok Do you think THAT frequency is enough to evacuate 20,000 people? Do you think riding a train makes you a conductor. Are you an engineer when you use Wi-Fi and pilot when taking a flight?
