In a red-carpet interview with @JeffDarlington, Woody Johnson dropped this nugget: He said Robert Saleh will "concentrate" on offense in 2024, leaving the defense to Jeff Ulbrich. Interesting. This is certainly not an endorsement for Hackett. #Jets espn.com/video/clip/_/i…

Almost there! There are only 8️⃣ more days in the countdown to Ole Miss Baseball! Today, we turn our attention to the "hot corner" of infield. At 3B for the Rebels, Andrew Fischer is a transfer out of Duke University, and he is from Manasquan, NJ. Andrew is a right-handed fielder who is listed as a 6'1" 200 lb. sophomore. Fischer has a tall, well-proportioned athletic build. The 3B shows good balance and control with quick reaction time. Fischer has a strong accurate arm with the ability to make the throw to 1B with ease. At the plate, Andrew is a left-handed hitter and has good core acceleration and stays behind the ball. His bat whips on plane and he excels at extending and producing lift. Andrew was asked why he chose Ole Miss, and he said, "Once I had made the decision to enter the transfer portal, Ole Miss was one of the first teams to reach out. They seemed to be fully committed right from the jump, and it seemed like a great fit. I made it a priority to visit Oxford and take my official visit here. Everything was amazing, and there really wasn't much more I could ask for. The coaches had showed me a video on my visit, and it really touched me and just like that I was hooked. After seeing everything, talking to the coaches, there was no place else I'd rather be." "One of the most intriguing parts about Ole Miss is knowing they have the track record of being a winning program and making it to the post season. I'm a competitor. I'm here to win. I want to play with winners, I want to learn how to consistently win. The guys here have the knowledge and tools to help me do that." Fischer continued. When Andrew was asked what he brings to the diamond at Swayze, he said, "I think I bring a leader to this year's team. I like to make my presence known in the clubhouse, and on the field. I like to interact with the fans and love to play with my emotions. I try to not only play competitive baseball but to keep it fun and interesting. The fans come to the park and want to see a show. The little kids remember the exciting moments, that's what college baseball is all about... playing baseball, and having fun. As far as a skill set, I am a left handed hitter who looks to drive balls out of the yard and consistently get on base. I want to lock down the hot corner for the rebs this year and do damage in the heart of the lineup." Expect Fischer to come to Swayze ready to ignite a fire in the hearts and minds of every Rebel this season. The most glaring thing that fans will notice is Andrew's talent and power to help put up runs and shift momentum in the Rebs' favor with one swing of his bat. The part that will be apparent as the season progresses is his high level of intelligence in both baseball and in the classroom. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what kind of academic level you have to be to even be considered as a student athlete at Duke. To actually be one and perform at the highest level is another entirely. Fischer was a second team All-American in his freshman season in 2023. As a Blue Devil, Andrew broke the single season HR record with 11 while hitting .289. 27 of his 50 hits were for extra bases. To top it all off, Fischer had a slugging percentage of .595 while collecting over 100 bases. Andrew Fischer is not done, and from the numbers that he put up in his freshman season, it is not hard to imagine him earning his second All-American Honor in as many years.

DOOCY TIME: “So you guys talk a lot, including today, about how the border wouldn’t to be such a big deal if Congress would have just passed the immigration bill on day one. Who was in charge of Congress on day one?” KJP: “So, it’s been three years. It’s been three — three whole years. More than three years, more than 1000 days and, look, this is a difficult issue, obviously,. This is a difficult issue and what we have said, is that Congress has to act, right? Congress — Democrats, Republicans — have to act. But, in those three years, it is true that Republicans have gotten in the way. They just have, Peter. They have constitulessly [sp] [sic] used immigration, the immigration system, the broken system as a political stunt. That’s what they’ve done. They’ve gotten in the way in trying to get more Border Patrol agents. They’ve gotten in the way and actually trying to fix what’s happening, the challenges at the border. They did.”

WOW 🚨 Americans Have No Idea How Bad Things Really Are Denver Police At Airport Off The Record “The media will not tell you this. — We’ve arrested, the Denver Police in Denver has arrested over 50 Al Qaeda members in the last 2 months” “So I just had a conversation with a Denver police officer at the airport, and we were talking about the crime that's going on, not only in Denver, but our country. And he says, the media will not tell you this. I'm not even supposed to talk about this, but I don't care anymore. We've arrested. The Denver police in Denver has arrested over 50 Al Qaeda members in the last 2 months. 50. Okay. So with that said, we started talking about everything else. And And we started talking about where the budget's going and how they don't have enough police cars. They're gonna be putting them on foot. We started talking about all the migrants that have coming over the border and how they're cutting the police budget in all major cities, including Denver. And then we started talking about how their sleeper cells all over Colorado. He's talking about South Americans. He's talking about people from Central America. He's talking about people from China. He's talking about people from, um, the Middle East all over, and he says, the police know this, the state police and the local police, and they're not allowed to do a damn thing about it. So y'all, here's my question for you, especially for those of you that are left leaning. Do you still think that it's okay to have open ****** borders?”

In 2011, George Kittle was a senior in high school. He was a 200 pound WR and only had offers from Weber State and service schools. His dream was Iowa, but he had never heard from them. That changed when before national signing day, Kirk Ferentz called. He said, "If two other prospects don’t commit, we will have a scholarship to offer you." Kittle was shocked. He had attended 2 Iowa camps the previous summers and not a single coach had said a word. Apparently they had noticed him, but didn't say anything. Kittle was nervous, anxious, and excited with the possibility. On signing day, George’s mom said, “He (George) wore a Hawkeye shirt under his regular shirt, just in case.” That day, Kirk Ferentz called and they were giving him an offer. They were taking a flier on his potential. George was ecstatic. But that was just the beginning. He showed up that spring as an undersized TE at 6’2” 201 pounds. When he stepped on the field, his joy and football obsession was on display, but his toughness made him stand out. He would enter drills undersized and get thrown, but he would keep at it no matter what. Coaches immediately noticed. Ferentz said, “I’ll tell you one thing, he’s not afraid. And if he’s not afraid, he’s got a chance.” George slowly improved, got bigger, and learned the offense from 2012-14, but he wasn't getting an opportunity because he wasn't taking football seriously enough. That changed in 2015 when he met former Hawkeye great Pat Angerer. Kittle said, "He (Pat) had a very similar story. He didn't play for three years, and then he figured it out and got drafted in the second round." Angerer told him, "I partied a lot, I drank a lot and I liked to fight people when I was drunk. That's what kept me from playing. And so I looked myself in the mirror and I said, 'Those are the three things that are gonna stop me from playing and achieving my dreams.'" That talk was a turning point for Kittle. It motivated him to do more and be better. That offseason, he knew the only way to get on the field was to focus on being a better run-blocker. Everyone knew he could catch, but didn't see that tenacity when he blocked. So that’s where he worked. • He worked on his strength to get stronger. • He worked on his explosiveness to push defenders. • He worked on his technique to drive defenders throughout the play. Coaches and players immediately noticed the dedication and the changes because he was moving defensive lineman in practice like he never did before. In 2015, Kittle saw more playing time because of his blocking. He even led the team with 6 TD receptions. In 2016, he was ready for a breakout season in his senior year, but it didn’t happen due to injuries. Kittle had laid the ground work for his skills to develop. His hard work, blocking abilities, and commitment led him to be drafted in the 5th round. And the story doesn’t end there as he is getting ready to suit up for Super Bowl 58 next Sunday. Takeaway 1: You create opportunities and luck through your diligence and hard work. George Kittle's (@gkittle46) story emphasizes how consistent effort can create opportunities. Initially unnoticed at camps, his hard work caught the coaches' attention, leading to a scholarship. His ongoing dedication and fearlessness in practice not only secured his spot, but expanded his playing time. Persistence and hard work consistently will always get you noticed over the long-term. Takeaway 2: Success doesn’t happen overnight, it is built through daily excellence. Kittle’s rise from an under-the-radar player to a standout performer highlights that success is a gradual journey, not an overnight phenomenon. For 3 years he didn't play, but he did get better. Then when he focused and committed even more, his skill improvement became that much more noticeable. This approach highlights the importance of a growth-mindset to anything you do. "I'm gonna try to do my job to the best of my ability and support whoever's on my team." - George Kittle - - - Follow @coachajkings more posts like this!

HAPPENING NOW: Donald Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and 25 states have backed Texas in their fight against the Biden administration. Who said Biden couldn’t unite America? “Texas is right. Biden’s failure to secure the border leaves states no choice but to take matters into their own hands,” Kennedy said. Trump went a step further and called on states to send their guards to the border to stop the flow of illegals. “We encourage all willing States to deploy their guards to Texas to prevent the entry of Illegals, and to remove them back across the Border,” Trump said on Truth. 🔥🔥🔥
