@ThomasSowell A drive from Cape Town airport to Camp's Bay will show Elon what real inequality is. We are far from being equal in South Africa. Anyway, Elon's attitude on "DEI" makes it hard for me to believe that he thinks that he is in anyway equal to a Black person.

@Rapt_RSA @buzwepama Tjo! You're so excitable. Calm down. The "black" shaming/victimhood won't work on me. I also don't know where hell is so you'll have to provide directions.
English

@Mpendulo4693000 @buzwepama Your covert aggression towards the Professor as black people on Twitter warrants it. "Skeptical from the beginning " , including the original post alluding to it being mental illness without reading. Vtsek, ya'll can go to hell actually.

@Rapt_RSA @buzwepama You can correct me without insulting me, clever dick. Enjoy your day.

@Mpendulo4693000 @buzwepama You're dumb and do not understand banking systems. Once certain INDIVIDUAL TRANSACTIONS exceed a threshold, the CEO and CFO should be involved. BTW, in cases of fraud, the threshold is R100k but people like you will type RUBBISH online for clout

@Askash I remember this place in the 80's and early 90's (I'm ancient). It was aspirational. I went there about 5 years ago and it was just meh...It just didn't have that "thing" that I always associated it with. I also thought that their accommodation prices were unjustifiable...

After 46 years, Sun City has been receiving a much-needed renovation valued at R400 million👏
Quick refurbishment details:
• Refurbished rooms with golf course views
• A completely reworked lobby experience
• A redesigned Sun Terrace with live cooking theatre
• Poolside entertainment area with DJs, cabanas and family zones
The biggest renovation will be the refurbishment of The Palace of the Lost City and the Sun City Hotel.
Sol Kerzner initially opened the iconic gambling resort in 1979 with Frank Sinatra headlining the launch party.
The Palace of the Lost City was built in 1992 and took 28 months to build at a cost of R830 million. The hotel’s gardens cost R25 million and are home to more than 1.6 million plants.
This Vegas-esque hotel was looking tired, so the renovation is warmly welcomed. The real question is whether South Africa still sees Sun City the same way… or if this is how it wins back relevance in a very different tourism market.
Have you ever visited Sun City? I would love to hear what you think of the property in the comment section.

@avrilamaka No. You haven't answered his question. You've been "free" from the 60's as Nigerians (most of the commentators here) but you have very little to show for it. Japa is in your lexicon FFS. Labelling SAns as being lazy or stupid doesn't answer his question. Answer it...

You guys are gonna raise children that are not ready for the real world, one that doesn’t care about your feelings.
Your children need to grow up understanding that life goes on regardless of your mental health. To be a functioning adult, you need to possess the ability to override most mental hurdles and still get the job done.

@maetsa_kabomo 55 is not too late if you are still healthy. 55 is still relatively young. E.G. walking 10km shouldn't be an issue at that age. Many people haven't accumulated enough money to be able to retire comfortably at 55 unless they were expert lifelong investors and have no debts.

@kabelobinns I thought that your diamond industry is being decimated by the rise of artificial/manufactured diamonds? Anyway, your tourism industry looks to be highly attractive: I want to visit you folks.
English

Botswana doesn't have a branding problem. We have a storytelling problem.
We have the diamonds, the democracy, the elephants, the stability, the people, but we tell our story in fragments, to the wrong rooms, in the wrong language. A country brand isn't a logo or a tagline. It's the sum of every promise a nation keeps.
What's one thing about Botswana you wish the world understood?

South African black men are on average, shorter as a result of malnutrition and stunting.
Research indicates that South African children and adults face significant height deficits compared to international standards, largely driven by malnutrition and stunting.
Key Findings:
Height Deficit: Research on a longitudinal cohort in Soweto-Johannesburg showed that white children were consistently taller than black children, with the mean height difference increasing from 3.7 cm at 1 year to 7.9 cm at 19 years in males.
Stunting Rates: Over 27% of children under the age of five in South Africa are stunted—meaning they are too short for their age due to chronic malnutrition.
Drivers of Malnutrition: Despite South Africa being a middle-income country, high unemployment and the unaffordability of nutritious food lead to high rates of malnutrition.
Double Burden: Many children suffer from a "double burden" of malnutrition, being stunted (too short) yet also overweight, as they often consume cheap, high-energy processed foods that lack essential nutrients.
Long-Term Impact: Stunting is often irreversible, causing permanent physical and intellectual underdevelopment, resulting in lower adult height and increased risk of diseases like diabetes.
The studies highlight that chronic, early-life malnutrition prevents children from reaching their full growth potential, contributing to the observed shorter average heights in adult populations.
