Is Fannie Masemola still the country’s top cop? The National Police Commissioner is facing an uphill battle as calls mount for the President to suspend him. Masemola is due to appear in court in April on charges related to violation of the Public Finance Management Act.

We’re tired of seeing headlines full of ‘foot soldiers’ while the generals are chilling in suits.
Shake the table properly… even that Phala Phala file must come out of retirement."

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says government is already implementing most recommendations of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into State Capture and has begun implementing those of the Madlanga Commission, with the National Prosecuting Authority working toward prosecutions, including against high-profile figures.

Chief Justice Mandisa Maya must be impeached for defeating the course of justice.

THE FACTION IN IDAC MUST NOT TAKE THE PEOPLE OF THE COUNTRY AS FOOLS
By Dennis Bloem
During the week, when the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) announced that they have arrested twelve (12) high ranking police officers who are allegedly involved in the facilitating of the controversial R360m MediCare24 of Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala in the police.
To us it was clear that a well worked out strategy was put together to blind fold the public with their real motive and plan.
When the country was still celebrating and applauding the good work of the IDAC, the shocking news of the summons of the National Commissioner of Police, Fannie Masemola, was announced and that he will join the rest of those accused in the next court appearance.
Everybody can see that this is clearly a fightback from those who are hellbent to capture the police services and the entire criminal justice system by charging the National Commissioner Fannie Masemola.
Activists and Citizens Forum will not, for one second, say that Commissioner Masemola is a angel and clean, but certainly he does not deserve this treatment from IDAC.
We can say without any doubt that Commissioner Masemola is not a rogue police, unlike so many of his colleagues, some who are Generals who are implicated at the Madlanga Commission and the Parliamentary Ad-Commitee. It is strange that not one of them are charged but rather Commissioner Masemola who is busy cleaning the SAPS.
We urge President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Acting Minister of Police Feroz Chachalia to look deeper into this so-called summons against Commissioner Masemola.
The country must remember that Commissioner Phahlane was also a victim of such action where an honest public servant's career is destroyed.
According to us, this faction in the IDAC wants to plunge the country into serious turmoil. The President has the responsibility to guard against counter revolutionaries.
