Absolutely made up with this display! Sums up what we're trying to do as a department so well! #historyteacher #history

Fantastic job opportunity (my current role) up for grabs in an outstanding department with a fantastic Sixth Form. Available as teacher of history or with the TLR for the right candidate. Get in touch if you have any Qs. mynewterm.com/jobs/137740/ED…

@OfficialFPL I don't mean to be that guy... But Frimpong was subbed at 60mins and I'm only getting one point for it. Wouldn't complain but every point counts when you're in a staff and students league and can't have kids winning so if you could rectify this that'd be great...

@HughJRichards Agreed. And then I think you're looking at building in a wider IT skills curriculum which would require adaptation as some really won't need it or establish it as a short term intervention but a challenge when timetabling hours are short!

@MrACHistory I can see the case for getting them functional IT skills in that way. Not at all sure it will help them build knowledge and skill I their actual A-levels

Anyone have any surveys/studies/anecdotal experience of sixth forms where devices are the standard way of working - ‘paperless’ or ‘digital’ sixth forms?

This is one of the great graphics of education policy, and is worthy of deep study. Phones are a scourge, and if you're running a school that allows them *in any way* you are increasing the chances of disruption massively. Control the controllables. @TeacherTapp

@HughJRichards Moving to solely laptop does put some at disadvantage. Some are really not IT skills literate (i.e. simple things like creating folders or saving files). Equally, is the school set up for it infrastructurally - does the school have the WiFi bandwidth and plug sockets?! (No joke)

@HughJRichards Nothing statistical. But I think that's because I intervened before the damage could be done. Student voice on Superpower Relations unit was awful compared to the others and it was a real source of visible anxiety for them in the run up to exams compared to the other units.

@HughJRichards We have had real issues with AI usage for laptops as access arrangement. To the extent that laptop users now have to face the wall in order for us to see their screens when doing in class tests. Also find that their organisation is awful despite having a cloud platform to help.

@MrThorntonTeach how have you approached this before? Our classes are mixed prior attainment.

#historyteacher colleagues that use booklets. How do you adapt for student needs when the whole sequence is printed out? Interested in exploring this further.

What a fantastic little tour of some Yorkshire hotspots to end a fabulous Easter holiday. Harrogate, Knaresborough and Whitby were all fantastic.

Dear @HariboUKI_ I was devastated tonight to find a jellyless heart in my pack of starmix. Please say this isn't a sign of things to come and that you're not cutting back - kids and adults need the happy world of haribo and not this sort of heartbreak.

Help me #edutwitter. Currently researching how to support previously high attaining students AND low attaining students to make progress at A Level. Does anyone have any strategies that have been successful? Or can point to some useful research? #sixthform #teacher #studyskills

@cura_dora That's the one! I'm really keen to get us thinking more strategically on study at post-16 so if you still have it I'd love to see it.

@C_Hendrick This largely mirrors what we're teaching at my school, especially within the Sixth Form context. For us the next stage is then them actually doing it in independent learning conditions and not just falling back to blocking habits.

X I need your help! The other day someone posted an excellent study skills and learning PPT/PDF and I thought I'd bookmarked it but I hadn't! From a school that has LGS as part of it! It was very colourful and really engaging - if you know what I'm talking about can you tag me!
