We need to get rid of carry-ons. Remove overhead bins from planes. Carryon culture is getting crazy when you’ve got people hauling rollers to their seats. Would be much more efficient getting on and off the plane if we limited carryons to what could slide under your seat and that’s it.

We are excited to be in the tournament and YES we are excited about going to Portland. A city that I have always enjoyed being in! As a matter of fact, one of the best players we have ever coached Terrence Jones was from there. Looking forward to the trip, even though it is quite a distance!

I think it’s super soft of Jeff Passan to write an article like this without even acknowledging how hard it is to be an umpire. Mason Miller throws one of the nastiest sliders in MLB. That pitch is a strike for 59.5 feet before it drops below the zone at the last second. Was it a bad call? Yeah. Was it an egregious call? No. It happens every game. It’s unfortunate that it happened to end a team’s WBC hopes, but that’s baseball.

@JeffPassan Jeff, I get it, you’re trying to be unbiased. And I respect that. But these pitches that you’re complaining about are inches in or out of the zone. They’ve been missed by umpires for the sport’s entire existence. 2 strikes, and it’s close, you protect. Everyone is taught that.

That game cannot end like that. A shame.
