After a week of doubting myself had a great day today so far, have just the one patient which is solely mine, been able to focus on them, answer all their questions, put them at ease. Two weeks left of PLE 4! #studentnurse

Finally was able to use at least some of my previous knowledge when out with the health visitor and they asked do I know what GIRFEC is, oh boy do I 😂😂 Also, all the wee babies were SO adorable 😩!!!#studentnurse

Now that my third placement is in the community and delivering care in people’s homes, I’ve seen a whole new side to nursing. It’s been so refreshing. Most of the time you also get to keep someone company for a wee while as you’ll be one of the only people they see that day ❤️

Only 2.5 weeks left of 50+ hour work weeks for a while, thank god. One very tired student nurse right here 😂!

Congrats to all teachers who just spent their first full day with their new class! Never got to experience it as a probationer, but I know on placement you breathe a bit after the first day! Go kill it ✨

Also I’m really sad that my colleagues and fellow students are having to turn to food banks. The person looking after your loved one, could be going home to no decent dinner, or a heated home.

My first week is over but my god, huge respect to all of our healthcare workers that make their career around helping our older citizens, especially those with dementia. It’s a whole new kind of challenging and it’s exhausting. I dread to think where we’d be without them.

It’s so important to treat people living with dementia with compassion and kindness💙 Please don’t get angry or frustrated with them, they will not remember what happened but they will remember how you made them feel.

I start my second placement today, very different and a bit longer to my first. It’s based in a care home, but I can’t wait to see what it’s like and hopefully break any stigma related to going to a care home placement 👨‍⚕️

Watching these debates it really frustrates me watching @theSNP always carefully dodging the fact that hundreds of teachers in Scotland are without work, or don’t have a guarantee of a job. Sick. Of. It. #ITVDebate

Last two exam results in (essay and an OSCE) and I got over 90% in both. I’ve never got an A1 in my LIFE. I’m so stoked. Only comment for the exam was I did well but make sure you have confidence in yourself 🥹 Going the way I want it 🙌🙌 #studentnurse

Just had a patient’s mum come up to me as I was leaving to hug me and say thank you for everything, I almost cried… this job is so amazing 🥹❤️ #studentnurse

I ❤️ nursing! Already got to do and witness so many things. Met a patient earlier who insisted I was a Pisces and that I need to watch that I don’t injure my ankle apparently 😂 (didn’t have the heart to say I was a Leo…) Also loved discussing Eid with some patients today 😇
