@CarolineLucas Not really… is it an escalation to protect your merchant ships passing through the strait or hormuz? Is it an escalation to protect your allies UAE & Qatar from missiles? Do you know what would happen to the economy if the UK doesn’t get the energy it needs?

This is such a dangerous escalation by Starmer, taking us further into an illegal & reckless war and demonstrating exactly the risk of mission creep that many have warned about, making us all less safe

The voting age was lowered in 1969 from 21 to 18 under Labour. It’s now being lowerred from 18 to 16 under Labour. We need a Political Party that will repeal the 1969 act and restore the minimum age to 21. Stop infantilising the electorate.

@JRtypes We are all stakeholders of different priorities throughout our lives. 16 year olds will turn 18 during the next g'ment & are subject to policies they had no choice in. Some policies disproportionately affect the young. Just like working families have different priorities.

Marriage age: 18 💒 Legal age to own a property: 18 🏠 End of Mandatory Education: 18 🏫 Legal driving age: 17 🚗 Voting at... 16 🗳 MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. Why would NON-STAKEHOLDERS be allowed to vote?

@SoNowUknow2 @gregbagwell Restoring the boys club, you mean? Putting back up the glass ceilings? For too long, lesser qualified white males held positions above their abilities, either through nepotism or favours to mates. Just be honest you aren't interested in the best "person" for the role.

@gregbagwell You assume merit but have no way of knowing if that was the case. You will find the “British” public will indeed vote for Reform because we have watered down our society to the point British standards almost cease to exist. Reset needed and Reform can start it.

This post is absolutely disgraceful. We know nothing around the facts of this case and Group Captain Henton would have been selected on merit for the full breadth of roles at Brize. If this is the face of Reform, I don’t think many would want to serve under them.

BREAKING: New leaked documents show that Joe Biden was Funneled $400 MILLION by the nation of Qatar. The same nation who offered Hamas leaders a home while Israel was hunting them; the same nation who is friendly with our sworn enemies, Iran. If you find this outrageous MAGA, then let me tell you that I was just joking. Trump is the one who will be allegedly taking delivery of a $400 MILLION jumbo jet from Qatar.

@AlexBathurst The FPTP keeps them out, neither green or lib candidates in my area stood a chance. They weren't even local from memory. My priority was getting the Tories out.

@MrDavidColey Dave, what keeps the greens and lib dems in a position of "no chance" from election to election? And how did Labour go from not existing to replacing the Liberals as one of the 2 main options in most constituencies?

Some of the thickest people alive. Slap a red rosette in an IDS clone and they call it a win even as welfare is cut. They are incapable of understanding even simple policy changes, instead they're toddlers giggling and clapping because they picked the right colour ball.
David@MrDavidColey

@owenjonesjourno @Otto_English I'm curious as to what you think the alternative options to getting the Tories out were? Hard to regret a choice when there wasn't one.

@AlexBathurst Brexit hasn't changed since Labour came in. The last modifications was the Tory Windsor agreement. I hope relationship with the EU will improve. I hope we at least rejoin the customs union.

@MrDavidColey Why did you want the tories out? Incompetent leader? You've got inept triangulation man now. Welfare cuts? You are getting even more Hard brexit? PM is sticking to it Perhaps protecting privatisation? Still got that The only thing you got rid of was the colour blue.

@thiswillsend @RS69490311 @owenjonesjourno @Otto_English We are less than 1 year in, after 14 years of Tories destroying the UK, from Russian sponsored Brexit, to take it on the chin covid, to dodgy ppe fast lane contracts for Tory donors. You act like there was even a viable choice to Labour.

@AlexBathurst How exactly can I engage with FPTP? If lib or greens had the better chance to get to Tories out in my area, they would have had my vote. There was only one issue at the last election getting the Tories out.

@MrDavidColey And so you aren't being pragmatic and engaging with fptp, you're being conned by a branding shift that isn't hard to see through.

@thiswillsend @RS69490311 @owenjonesjourno @Otto_English That's naive, Starmer reacting to the broader electorate that has been indoctrinated and gaslit for 14 years of Tories clinging to power, following the popularist nonsense spouted by Farage and the disaster that is Brexit.

@MrDavidColey @owenjonesjourno @Otto_English All they've done is capitulate on every right wing issue. They've validated the Tories and Reform, hence Reform now pose a real threat. This is what happens when you remove the left as the main opposition, just as the faction now in charge has done.

@MrDavidColey Well done David, you've replaced the corruption and incompetence of Johnson with the same corruption and incompetence of Starmer. You get the same cuts to welfare, underfunding the NHS, and protection of privatisation but there's now a red rosette so congratulations on your win

@AlexBathurst Or perhaps be a realist, and understand that with the current system of fptp, tactical voting to get rid of the Tories was the only option. Despite your hate for Starmer, which you tout as political savviness, it is unrealistic to gamble on voting for minority parties.

@thiswillsend @owenjonesjourno @Otto_English Labour maybe wannabe traditional tories, what is and was worse was the actual Tories, racing Reform to the bottom of racism and popularist nonsense, so yes plenty averted.

@not3bad @cathervne @owenjonesjourno @Otto_English My argument starts with what was the choice available in my area, Greens won 2% of the vote, Liberal 6%. Anything other than Labour would have been a protest vote. No independent ran.
