MrBeast did a 14-day water fast and got a different result than the internet promised. He went in for a video, not weight loss. Online claims said extended fasting mostly burns fat and spares muscle. A DEXA scan before and after told a different story: roughly 13 pounds (about 6 kg) of fat and 7 pounds (about 3 kg) of lean mass gone. The muscle didn’t bounce back the moment he started eating again. By day 5–6 the energy crash hit hard. Standing up and walking around on days 10–12 felt brutal. The much-hyped mental clarity never showed up for him, he was simply exhausted the whole time. Theo Von had just done a 72-hour water fast and found it manageable. Fourteen days was another level. A real-world data point that didn’t match the Reddit consensus.
