@seanonolennon Agreed, that was a poor choice of words, or potentially a poor course of action to propose.

‘A whole civilization will die tonight’ is not something that should ever be said by someone holding the nuclear codes. How is it possible that anyone is defending this rhetoric? It’s just wrong, period.

@dnvr_is_burning I've had cause to be in Portland a few times over the last year (not by choice), and they have a gondola, but I've never seen it moving. Based on my sample size of one, this has about a 66% chance of failing.

Omg they're really taking this downtown gondola boondoggle seriously 🙄🙄 It's going to be presented at City Council They say it will be $350m (originally they said $550m🤷🏻‍♀️). Whatever they say it will be at least 2x And it won't do anything to fix the problems ailing downtown!

Starfleet Academy star Gina Yashere claims the show is one of the best of Star Trek: "I thought we made an amazing show. The first season was fantastic, and we just finished shooting Season 2, and I can say Season 2 is even better. We just kept building on that platform we made, and in my humble opinion, I think it was one of the best first seasons of Star Trek made." Do you agree with her?

George R.R. Martin explains how his Game of Thrones characters wielding power badly is his answer to Tolkien: "Ruling is hard. This was maybe my answer to Tolkien, whom, as much as I admire him, I do quibble with. Lord of the Rings had a very medieval philosophy: that if the king was a good man, the land would prosper. We look at real history and it’s not that simple. Tolkien can say that Aragorn became king and reigned for a hundred years, and he was wise and good. But Tolkien doesn’t ask the question: What was Aragorn’s tax policy? Did he maintain a standing army? What did he do in times of flood and famine? And what about all these orcs? By the end of the war, Sauron is gone but all of the orcs aren’t gone – they’re in the mountains. Did Aragorn pursue a policy of systematic genocide and kill them? Even the little baby orcs, in their little orc cradles? Real-life kings had real-life problems to deal with. Just being a good guy was not the answer. You had to make hard, hard decisions. Sometimes what seemed to be a good decision turned around and bit you in the ass; it was the law of unintended consequences. I’ve tried to get at some of these in my books. My people who are trying to rule don’t have an easy time of it. Just having good intentions doesn’t make you a wise king." What do you think Tolkien would have thought about such comments?

@Q_Review Some friends of ours were honeymooning at WDW on 9/11. They just hung out at the pool on 9/12. My wife and I went to Universal Orlando a few weeks afterward and things seemed pretty normal.

What's the earliest footage we have of an American Disney park after 9/11? I've always heard the parks were like ghost towns for a while and I’m fascinated by the idea of some guy waking up on 9/12 and going “today is the perfect day to enjoy short lines at Disney World”

This is not my area, but if we have an economist on the platform, can someone please explain why regular gas is over $4.00 a gallon? This is insane. I thought Venezuela was helping us out? I have read over and over again that we are exporting more oil than we are importing. I know there are some refinery issues, but this pricing reminds me of 2022 when the Russian invasion affected our gas prices. I know we are at war with Iran, but I really am hoping for a simple explanation as to why the war is impacting the day to day prices of what Jo-Q American needs to survive so significantly. Not a political person, but when my gas and my strawberry prices are becoming criminal, it's time to ask questions. #gasprices #IranWar

Why do gas stations still do the 9/10ths thing? Are there really people who don’t think $3.99 and 9/10 isn’t $4. Just make it $4 and cut the shit already.

THIS ESCALATED FAST… Passenger removed from a Spirit Airlines flight in Nashville before the plane even took off What started as a confrontation at the gate carried onto the plane… Next thing you know - she’s being taken off Reports say she refused to follow crew instructions And once that line is crossed… airlines don’t play One moment can cost you your entire trip Be real - are airlines too strict, or was this justified? What would YOU have done? ⬇️ 🇺🇸

@Jeebly_Natalie This probably boils down to those who are thankful for their fame, and those who think they deserve it. Except Peter Dinklage, he seems to act entitled in interviews...maybe it's a body image thing. Glad to hear he's actually a nice guy.

@astheravencalls @reddit_lies Technically, 'bake our cake' was before 'let us get married' was legal. The baker would have been supporting an illegal act if he'd baked the cake.

@reddit_lies I don't hate some of the more restrained gays and lesbians, but they need to get back in the closet. Socalled gay marriage was a mistake. Defining deviancy down and all that.👇🏻

The new ‘LAX People Mover’ at the Los Angeles Airport is finally being tested This elevated train connects to terminals and parking and was supposed to open 3 years ago. It is now $1 billion dollars over budget. Costing $3.4 billion dollars Here’s a list of things that cost less than this new 2 mile LAX Airport Train: - The Beijing High Speed Rail $2.3 billion. 75 miles of train for half the cost of our 2 miles - Paying $100,000 to every homeless person in the city of Los Angeles - Overthrowing the government of Venezuela - The Apollo 11 mission to the moon (not adjusted for inflation) - The third tallest building in the world - The second tallest building in the world - Both these buildings COMBINED is still cheaper than the 2 miles of train at the LAX airport The cost of this 2 miles of train at LAX airport is $4.9 billion (this is the estimated cost to complete and operations)

@disneytipsguy We're going to find out in August when we have our first stay at OKW. Saratoga Springs was 'OK'. Convenient for Disney Springs, but otherwise nothing special. I expect about the same from OKW.

My American friends, I'm facing a major problem here. When I say I want to eat American BBQ, some Americans say, "come to Texas," others say, "come to South Carolina," and still others say, "come to Missouri." I'm confused. Are you guys going to start a BBQ civil war?

Alex Kurtzman reportedly told the cast of Starfleet Academy the show's cancellation "had nothing to do with the quality of the show." Do you believe him?
