Metacarpals aren’t straight. This CT study (105 cadaver hands) shows dorsal cortex is straighter than volar, supporting its use as a guide for intramedullary fixation. Check it out in the March 2026 issue of JHS. jhandsurg.org/article/S0363-… #JHS #Metacarpal #IMN

Early mobilization has improved #FlexorTendon repair outcomes but the balance is critical: prevent adhesions without risking rupture. Taleghani et al. examined how postop edema and total arc of motion affect tendon gliding resistance. jhandsurg.org/article/S0363-… #HandSurgery

This is Acro-osteolysis in Scleroderma • Distal phalanx resorption, starting at the fingertip → gives a conical tip in severe cases. • Seen in 20-60% of early SSc. • Strongly linked with digital ulcers, severe Raynaud’s, calcinosis, anti-Scl70, and higher disease severity scores. • Reflects vasculopathy + chronic ischemia at the digital tips. • Early recognition matters — it signals more aggressive peripheral vascular disease. Other causes see the mnemonic 👇 @DrAkhilX @IhabFathiSulima @CelestinoGutirr @Urchilla01

See how as you restore height of radius, you tension the Distal Oblique ligament (DOB) Stabilising the DRUJ. Very similar situation in Galeazzi when you restore length to radius.
