As many of you may have noticed, I have quite an obsession with #Shakespeare, but now you’re going to find out just how much! This year, I want to challenge myself, so I’ve set myself the task of performing every piece in Allie Esiri’s Shakespeare For Every Day Of The Year from

@DiscussingFilm I gotta say, there really is something chillingly brilliant about that image of the 2 of them. The way they’re positioned in the light, she looks like she’s glowing, while he’s in the murky shadows. It really looks as if they’re in 2 different worlds!

Curry Barker says ensuring that Nikki is accurately portrayed as a victim in ‘OBSESSION’ was just as important as making her scary in the film. “What you’re left with is a really tragic story about a man & a woman & leaning into the realism of that was really important.”

@thesnlnetwork He should bring back his drama teacher from the cast list sketch! “We will be using Hamilton casting rules for this show. Any race for any role…..unless it strikes me as weird.”

Elon Musk is doubling down on his criticisms against Christopher Nolan’s #TheOdyssey, claiming the director’s diverse casting choices were made to meet #Oscars eligibility requirements. “Who specifically is the asshole who added DEI lies to Academy Awards eligibility instead of it just being about making the best movie?” he asked. “Chris Nolan desecrated ‘The Odyssey’ so that he would be eligible for an Academy Award.” variety.com/2026/film/news…

Should Oh, Mary! continue to extend in London, here are one or two suggestions for Mary: - Jack Shep (should it not interfere with SNL) - Diane Morgan - Lucy Punch - La Voix - Layton Williams

@LynneScroggins @CinemaTweets1 Why would that be his intent when he already HAS an Oscar? Also, there’s no way you can tell from a 2-minute trailer whether or not an adaptation has stayed faithful to the story. Don’t you think you should actually see the full film before you give your verdict?

@CinemaTweets1 Absolutely not! Nolan made this movie with the intent of winning an Oscar for Best Picture. A true artist would have stayed faithful to the story, no matter what Hollywood requires for recognition. Nolan doesn’t deserve the audience or the award.

Why is there a weird amount of negative discourse about Christopher Nolan on my timeline right now? Get this Nolan Hate away from me. We are 65 days, basically 3 months, away from a new Nolan film. Stop the negativity. Just embrace all this man has done for filmmaking. Not hard.

Christopher Nolan instructed Ludwig Göransson not to use an orchestra for ‘THE ODYSSEY’ score. “It’s not like the orchestra existed back then. It was a challenge and also an opening to try to make something unique.” (Source: time.com/article/2026/0…)

@ThePosieParker @Variety Because as Nina Simone herself said: “It is an artist’s duty to reflect the times”. Politics have always had strong roots in the arts, ever since it all began with the Greeks.

Hannah Einbinder says Hollywood not speaking out in support of Palestine "pisses me off" and they "need these issues to affect a white person for them" to care. “I look at these people who have absolutely every privilege imaginable to mankind and they cannot utter a single word. I really can’t understand it... People in Hollywood, unfortunately, need these issues to affect a white person for them to see it as relating to them,” she noted. “Like, they see Jimmy Kimmel getting taken off the air suddenly, they see Stephen Colbert’s show being canceled by CBS, which is owned by the Ellisons, and they go, ‘How could this possibly happen?’ And it’s like, we know how because we saw students and professors and journalists and authors and Palestinian folks be silenced and fired and expelled and imprisoned… it took it happening to these white men for people to be like, ‘Oh my god.’” variety.com/2026/film/news…

Truly sad to hear this. He was a wonderful actor. I loved his performance as Antigonus in Kenneth Branagh’s beautiful revival of The Winter’s Tale. He wrote an incredible book about Chekhov, Are You There Crocodile?, which is a must-read for any actor! 🕯️

We are incredibly sad to hear that RSC Honorary Associate Artist Michael Pennington passed away at the age of 82 yesterday. A Shakespearean to his very bones, Michael’s long & distinguished career with us spanned an astonishing 50 years. Our thoughts go to all those who knew him

I am so very sad to learn that the great actor Michael Pennington has died. We were together at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre for the best part of 13 yrs. Over the years whenever we met we would talk ‘Shakespeare!’ He was one of our great Shakespearean actors. RIP Dear Michael.

Here is your first glimpse at Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, and Mike Faist in East of Eden. A new limited series adapted by Zoe Kazan coming this fall. This fresh interpretation of Steinbeck’s masterpiece will explore the multigenerational saga of the Trask family and its indelible antihero, Cathy Ames.
