JWHT Douglas who played 23 Test for England and captained Essex from 1911 to 1928. An excellent allrounder, he scored 24,531 runs at 27.90 and took 1893 wickets at 23.32. He was British Amateur Middleweight boxing champion and won the gold at that weight at the 1908 Olympics
