This madness must stop. Swedish healthcare must finally be held to account for abandoning patients with complex, serious — and treatable — conditions. Journalists have a crucial role to play in ensuring that this discussion takes place. A lack of knowledge about complex medical conditions does not tell the whole story. This goes much deeper. It exposes a profound, systemic absence of empathy, humility, and responsibility toward the very people whose lives healthcare professionals are meant to protect — and whose health they are failing to improve.
