In June 2020, #MississippiStateUniversity running back Kylin Hill tweeted: "Either change the flag or I won't be representing this State anymore & I meant that .. I'm tired". Hill, a #Mississippi native and one of the top rushers in the #SEC at the time, issued this threat directly in response to #Governor Tate Reeves' initial hesitation to support a new flag design.
