Stoked to have published in @ScienceMagazine, but this is not a happy Letter. Portuguese farmland birds are in an all-time low, and the Ministries of @agricultura_pt and @ambiente_pt must act together ASAP to make farmlands biodiverse, Healthy and functional again. #ornithology

Very happy to share our new paper in @PNASNews on how #GriffonVultures change their movement and social behaviour with age: pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… It seems that old griffons are much like old humans: they like to stay at home, are set in their routines and are a bit antisocial.

Yesterday our friends @Otis_inglorius counted 11,000 (!) #WhiteStorks crossing the Strait of Gibraltar! And 4 of our juveniles were there, crossing at ~12h UTC😍 2-year-old Fernão was late to the party and did not cross. Instead, he decided to stop at the landfill for a snack 🍔
