@OliverJia1014 I’m an xennial (43) and I love the prequels. I loved TPM in ‘99 and still love it today. The weakest one is AOTC but it still has tons of redeeming qualities. ROTS is my second favorite of the 6. I also was a baby when ROTJ came out so that might have something to do with it.

I keep repeating this point, but it’s true. The sequel trilogy was made to be as anti-prequel as possible. It was intended to get back the cynical Red Letter Media Gen X/early millennial crowd while creating a new generation of fans. It largely failed on both accounts.

Casual reminder: JJ Abrams hated the Star Wars Prequels so intensely he put a scene in The Force Awakens where Coruscant is destroyed as a literal middle finger to George Lucas. His bosses made him change it to another system which required a post-hoc lore addition where the New Republic capital moved to the Hosnian system.

In a classic example of Battletech being an unpredictable game, the Sphinx landed a head shot in the first round and destroyed the cockpit of Aileen's Sledgehammer. We're going to have to reset the test and try again.

I watched TMNT II for the first time in a while last night, and I noticed something new. While making the anti-mutagen, Perry admits that he tampered with the ooze to make Tokka and Rahzar less intelligent. Makes me wonder what they would have been like with "stock" ooze.

@revenant_MMXX Nintendo is like Disney in that no one wants to challenge them because A) they’ll run out of money long before Nintendo does, and B) they make the process the punishment. They also love to make examples out of people: See: Team Xecuter guy, although he brought it on himself.

Doesn't matter, it's an all-or-nothing argument. They own the IP for NES games as much as they own the IP for Switch games, if they get their way ruining emulation for one they'll get it on everything. Case law says they're wrong, but courts love billion dollar tech companies.

Might be an unpopular take and I’m the last person to be a blind Nintendo defender, but I get where they’re coming from. Emulating the NES hurts no one, but emulating a console and games currently in production really is just plain piracy. This shouldn’t surprise anyone.

@revenant_MMXX That’s always my retort to GE fans - name a bunch of games that ripped it off. It’s those 3 and that’s it. Zelda II, which supposedly sucks, has at least half a dozen. Shooters are still ripping off Halo to this day.

GoldenEye "defining console shooters" is a big myth, considering its design language didn't translate over into many other games. The only other "GE-like" shooters were Perfect Dark, TimeSplitters games, and a few licensed Bond games. Everything else copied Halo or COD.

The N64 is the most overrated game console in gaming history. It had good games, but too little variety and long droughts between major titles. Sega took more creative risks, Sony made important tech advancements, Nintendo kneecapped themselves with prolonged use of cartridges.

@theWellRedMage The Patrof tyrant fight in 7th Saga sucked for me. I had Kamil with Esuna as a companion, and Valsu was the tyrant. He 1-shotted me with an ICE2 spell and then I had to fight through the stupid dungeon with no runes for (many) retries. I eventually beat him with Esuna.

First for the user account open powershell admin then run this command "Get-AppxPackage | out-Gridview -Passthru | Remove-AppxPackage" Select the junk you want removed and it will remove it completely. Second to stop it from ever install that crap again you have to remove the provisioning apps which reinstalls if you upgrade new version or add new user. Same process mostly Powershell admin then run this command "Get-AppxProvisionedPackage -online | out-Gridview -Passthru | Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage -online" select everything you never want to see again and it removes it from ever being installed again!

@TheCinesthetic Don't have to imagine, I saw it at least 2 or 3 times back in '93. It blew my 11-year old mind, and what's crazy is that it still looks so great today that it's genuinely tough to tell which shots are CGI and which are puppets.

@BenMonroe1 @exQUIZitely Battlefront 2 (EA) starts from the Empire's perspective, but you're on the rebel side by the 3rd mission, plus turbof*** Operation Cinder. Squadrons is half Imperial missions but portrays them as sadistic puppy-kicking assholes with no redeeming qualities, as Disney does.

Star Wars: Tie Fighter (LucasArts, 1994) was the sequel to Start Wars: X-Wing and turned it up a notch or two! The first Star Wars game to let you play as the Empire, as a force of order against Rebel Scum! Joining the Dark Side was simply badass. Getting that tattoo lasered on to your arm, epic. Hearing the original laser and blaster sounds, absolute nerd chills. Requiring not just a steady hand to gun down enemy fighters and capital ships, but also having to manage and toggle energy between weapons, engines, and shields, Tie Fighter had the perfect mix with epic battles, mission briefings and debriefings, and excellent cutscenes. Computer Gaming World, GameSpot, and IGN all inducted it into the Hall of Fame.

@MW5Mercs, like HBS BattleTech, is just as much of a merc company business simulator as a stompy robot one. This business school graduate and licensed CPA freaking LOVES it. The biggest problem is stopping my inner accountant from screaming at me every time I get shot.
