Family first, you will never regret that.
It’s ok to pause things for what is truly important. Twice now I’ve had to put startups on hold while our little ones get to a more autonomous age.
When they get a little older, include them in your grinds and brainstorming sessions. It teaches them valuable lessons.

One of my old neighbors was a botanist.
One day I asked her if something sprouting in my mulch was a weed or a plant. She responded “would you want a plant there?” I said no and she responded “well it’s a weed then”.
If she had said it was plant I probably would’ve left it alone because that what I thought would be right.
Your home is your space, you deserve to have it the way you want it without judgement.

True story. I know a millennial couple who we were casual friends with. They own a 1920’s house full of beautiful dark oak trim work - excellent condition.
And she painted it white.
I don’t speak with them anymore because of this (and other reasons).
I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s indicative of other major mental issues. Disregard for the wood grain, the carpenter, the past generations that lived in the home and maintained the wood, the future generations that will live in the house once you’re gone.
It’s a red line for me.

@AKASpencerScott I have an Amazon Storefront and could easily do this but…. WHO DRIVES A MITSUBISHI??

The best way to get the public on your side re: AI:
Pass on the abundance DIRECTLY to the people.
For an entire county that approves a Data Center: Pay for utility bills. Provide free transportation. Do trash removal, plowing, etc. Fix roads. Fund schools.
Bypass government entirely. Go direct to the citizenry.
Prove that Abundance is FAR BETTER at providing services than Government.

The world’s biggest music festival — right here in California.
@Coachella proves time and time again why no one does it quite like the Golden State.

@ewarren I guarantee you that is not what that tax would end up paying for.

@jonwerthen Time for a shake up? Honestly, I’m kinda interested.

The forklift market in the US is quietly one of the most broken equipment markets in manufacturing.
Dealers mark up 30-40% over invoice. Rental rates are predatory. "Certified pre-owned" means almost nothing. The buyer has zero visibility into what a machine actually costs to source.
A mid-sized shop trying to add to its fleet is at the mercy of regional monopolies, slow auction sites with fake reserve prices, and salespeople on straight commission.
Amazon figured out how to move $10B in goods per day. But somehow buying a used Toyota 5000 lb sit-down still involves fax machines and a guy named Dave who calls you back "when he gets a chance."
A mid-sized shop trying to right-size its fleet is at the mercy of regional monopolies, slow auction sites with fake reserve prices, and salespeople on straight commission.

@farzyness Brilliant. This makes me WANT a datacenter neighbor

It's becoming super obvious that most people in the US do not like AI.
But there's an easy way to fix this.
It's actually super simple.
AI companies pay for every home's electricity and water bill in the counties where data centers are built.
Easy.
You literally start proving out the abundance thesis the second those data centers get approved.
Per Grok 4.20, there's roughly 50k homes in an average county in the US, with an average yearly utility bill for electricity and water of roughly $3k per year.
That's roughly $150m per year per county.
Each one of the biggest data center hyperscalers can very easily afford this.
You'll have counties TRIPPING OVER THEMSELVES to get a data center built in their region.
It's such a no-brainer solution.

The US social mood is turning dramatically negative on AI

@bprintco Does your team know it’s $30k? Might help to inform them.
