@mattijackson All desirable but at a cost. Cheaper peak time tickets will not help overcrowding.

For the one millionth time, you cannot “overbook” a train. We have a walk up railway. Think of it like a bus, not a plane. Passengers with flexible tickets pick their train. Seat reservations are free. If we had a reservation only railway, those standing wouldn’t be travelling.
Susie Goss@SusieMGoss

Hi @GWRHelp, what compensation are you offering to passengers who’ve paid £90 to travel on the massively over-booked, standing room only 19:04 train from Paddington to Plymouth? How can you force people to stand for hours when tickets cost so much? Disgusting!

Its clear the British media either didn't know or didn't care that the tories left a loophole in jet fuel imports using Russian oil being allowed into the UK, which is why are now spinning Labours policy to phase in banning it, as a loosening of sanctions.

any other leader would be 20 points ahead
Why are these people obsessed with blaming hs2s costs on environment regulations and not the fact that a load of posh old tory nimbys who will be dead soon wanted it buried underground so their view of a field wasn't disturbed? Put them all in jail
any other leader would be 20 points ahead tweet media
Will 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿@anglofuturist

The sad thing about HS2 is that you can't even blame corruption for why it's costing so much. In Russia, when a project is over budget and past schedule, you can find the guy with a new Mercedes and put him in jail. What do we do here? Put the environmental regulations in jail?

This should destroy Nigel Farage’s entire political argument. Net migration has collapsed from 944,000 to around 204,000, yet voters still think it’s rising because Reform and Farage have spent years feeding Britain hysteria instead of facts. Asylum seekers are only about 9% of immigration, not the “invasion” constantly screamed about. The NHS was broken by underfunding. Housing was broken by austerity. Wages were crushed by corporate greed. Migrants were the distraction. Not the cause.

I can understand your confusion ... see its actually really simple. We Want LEGAL immigrants to come to the UK to integrate into our communities. We DONT want Illegal immigrants flooding the country committing crimes, raping kids and demanding that we change our culture to be what they demand. If you are still having difficulty let me know and I will try and dumb it down some more... 🤨

The billionaires HATE the idea of a food cap because it will work, and it will reduce their profits AND they have no way to stop it Then when it works and it is popular it can be used on Energy, Water, Rail, Mail, Telecoms... If it wouldn't work, they wouldn't be so frightened

@anyotherleader1 Plenty of rail tunnel built in Norway, France, Japan etc so blaming it on tunnelling is not an explanation. Why does every part of the line - tunnels, embanked, viaducts - cost more than the equivalent in other developed countries?

@Sukraine @MumofFatCassie Changing a welfare payment from universal to means tested is literally a cut. Labour have cut LCWRA in half and cut half a billion from Motability. Why do you starmer dickriders lie so much?

It strikes me that the problem Starmer primarily has boils down to him wanting to make improvements quietly, sensibly and lastingly, and he isn't a massive bloody show-off. His unpopularity says more about us than it does about him. We are a profoundly unserious country. #r4today

@TomWright165389 @judeinlondon Increasingly marginal conversations are not great way to debate, as we'll end on a semantic discourse that should bore us both and provide very little value. An example might be pubs shutting down as the land was more valuable as flats. Not to the community, but to the land owner

@TomWright165389 @judeinlondon Those with money get to dictate to those who don't. As largely that provides disproportionate resource for the world to be built in your favour to acquire more money. How do you think it goes?

@judeinlondon Capitalism is when you can sell your labour for its most productive use and businesses compete to offer you the best deal. Capitalism is the reason we can afford to offer a few below market properties, not the cause of a housing shortage

@GnarlyKnotts @johninsouthfla I've seen the media report on these kind of things before, but tends to be when a principled/unprincipled stand is happening. Can we compare rates of attrition vs other parties?

@johninsouthfla This happens every day with other parties and councillors and has done for years, the fact you’re picking up on it, it’s more the fact that you’re trying to pick wholes in Reform.

It's Bamford that's taking the government benefits!! He pays crap wages Won't pay 500 million he owes to HMRC It's Bamford who's the parasite not the poor who need help. 60% benefits are paid to WORKERS who aren't paid enough by fat cat arseholes like BAMFORD
Politics In The U.K.@politixintheuk

JCB owner Bamford: “You can’t get away with £60k benefit handouts.” Also billionaire brothers Anthony Bamford and Mark Bamford: Not paying a tax bill of up to £500 million. What greedy, Farage-supporting bastards.
