@henningsanden godot. takes maybe 3 seconds to load everything. unity and unreal have you waiting hours for them to compile

@FearMongrel i get that because for me obsession and passion bring a lot of progress. i always notice after a long enough period i need social connection and those breaks give me renewed energy and motivation tho.
English

@MrbiggsDEV that's true.. its hard to balance the passion and be able to turn your brain off, but it can definitely be worth it to take those breaks. and connection is the most important thing you can have. connections are everything for a human
English

@GamesByNoori really fits the game dev philosophy of "just make it exist first, then make it pretty." amazing progress
English

like seriously. trust me, you want other people to create the games you never knew you needed.

Remember, other indie devs winning doesn't mean that you lose.
English

@MrbiggsDEV Oh so this is how it feels to talk with someone that knows ball. I will follow step after step the process, sign me as already preordering the pre-order

English

i absolutely agree. i did specify its very early. i made it the way it is because its a modular script i can apply to anything on a site. i thought it through and im going to create fragments of artifacts too. also, in archaeology you'd use a small brush or trowel NEVER a big shovel for things like this lol.
English

@MrbiggsDEV So at this point why I'm not taking the entire piece of ground with the object in it and cleaning it later so it doesn't crumble. Like I get it but it's 2000 years old, try to dig it out and something will crack because of any piece of ground that isn't soft and can be digged
English

@MrbiggsDEV It has the same vibes as the catacombs under Paris

@InfoRosebrock @LifeArtStudios its not a very helpful reply tbh. i make games because i genuinely enjoy making them. i was only asking because i was torn between two ideas i actually liked equally.
English

@LifeArtStudios @MrbiggsDEV there is a difference between making something for yourself and making a product to make a living from. None of us know the purpose of the game.
English

@InfoRosebrock i whole heartedly agree. i toyed around with the idea of a narrative based fps in ancient greece but nothing would stick. i study archaeology so to me, its a very natural fit. although, i wouldnt make it as advanced as real archaeological work lol
English

@MrbiggsDEV I'd probably play the first idea because it's more unique. A game 'set in ancient times' sounds pretty generic and much less specific.
English

@jacekwozn14k ill definitely check it out. im currently prototyping, but also writing what blend sounds best. i super appreciate the suggestions btw 🙏
English

@MrbiggsDEV what about mixing both of them?
motives from:
ex: Darkest of Days
ex: Serious Sam
Shtick of timetravel that both enables being the archaeology and ancient sim. But those as I said, may both be pricy (time-consuming) to make.
English

@jacekwozn14k i have an idea for both thats why i ask. im an archaeology student too.
English

@MrbiggsDEV Make game you want to make first and foremost.
As for rest, I dunno, would be nice but question that if you have enough resource and knowledge to pull it off or at least wanting to obtain those... that's why I wrote that first sentence.
Seems fun idea, someone will play it imo.
