Lagos State wanted to detach Lagos State from the power grid under Governor Bola Tinubu and Enron, but the FGN stopped him FGN also stopped Rivers and Akwa-Ibom Abia State lucked out with GEJ and Bart Nnaji and got an early start. Now that laws have been amended, States can exercise power. It should have happened from 1999 Nigeria can't run a single national grid; it's too inefficient Regarding the Discos, they should own the grids and buy and sell power on their terms. This “nationalisation” of everything does not allow for business efficiency How can power be generated in Bayelsa and transmitted all the way to Yobe I know nothing about power, happy to be educated

.@alexottiofr: Our vision on electricity is to detach Abia from the national grid... my commissioner for power is currently in The Netherlands negotiating that

Installing Solar is a journey of no return🙆🏿‍♂️ Install solar of 5m and power few items and only very few at night (maybe one AC) then you will like to power more items they will give you another quote of 5m for upgrade 😭😭 National grid is the solution !! No cap 🧢

@OloyeSomorin We just turn off the circled switch, it disconnects the light for the whole area under the specific feeder, its based on your band and the available supply from the grid, the main branch of the disco usually calls to tell us to reduce load or increase load to avoid grid collapse

Who works at NEPA that can educate us on how things work? Do you get up from your desk and decide to push a button to put say Ososami Street in the dark or is it automated? How do you decide who gets light? I know when I was growing up and you had a party you can go to NEPA office and bribe them and you’ll have light. So how is it in this modern times?

@okoyemekun @bigbrovar Over 80% of Nigerians work in the informal sector it’ll be hard to give credit to someone who doesn’t work a formal job. Most Nigerians do menial jobs or sell something on WhatsApp, bus drivers and monthly payments is not stable and also their source of income not guaranteed
