Great news that Ukraine has come to an agreement with the US on a ceasefire and congratulations to all negotiators - including the Saudi hosts. Under these terms Ukraine can have a prosperous future as a free sovereign and independent country. They have the prospect of a long term economic partnership with the most powerful country on earth, backed up by a European reassurance force in Ukraine, led by Britain and France. The Ukrainians have proved that they can make peace. Now it is up to the Kremlin to sign up to the Trump plan - or face the consequences. If Putin refuses we will know that he is not serious about peace and never was.

BREAKING: Russia launched a missile attack on Kryvyi Rih, a city in central Ukraine and Zelensky’s hometown, killing a 47-year-old woman and injuring at least nine people. The attack came just hours after Ukraine agreed to a US-backed 30-day cease-fire, which now depends on Russia’s approval. The Vietnam war was won by communism. It’s hard to imagine tougher soldiers than the Viet Minh & their Communist allies in Laos. It’s a shame that the stereotype of communists being weak persists in the US when it was communists who dealt the U.S. empire their most humiliating military defeat in Indochina. Let’s strive to be less like Middle Class radlibs and more like Ho Chi Minh & the communists of Indochina.
