🚨 José Mourinho on comparisons between Pep Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson after Manchester City’s FA Cup final win over Chelsea: “No, no, no… that is not even close.” “Yes, Pep Guardiola is a great coach. What he has done with Manchester City is fantastic, the football is beautiful and the trophies are there.” “But Sir Alex Ferguson? Come on. You speak like people who did not watch football.” “Sir Alex built different generations of winning teams over more than 20 years. Different players, different eras, different rivals and still he continued winning.” “He did not always have the biggest spending power, but Manchester United remained at the top because of his mentality and leadership.” “What Sir Alex did was not just coaching tactics, it was building a football empire.” “Pep has coached incredible teams with incredible structures, but Sir Alex rebuilt Manchester United again and again while the whole league kept changing around him.” “One dominated with perfection. The other dominated through generations.” “For me, Sir Alex Ferguson is still untouchable.” {@talkSPORT }

@sp4rkl3jumpr0p3 Here in Worcester the next fight will be between Greens and Reform. It’s already a shit show at the county council with reform resignations and then an alliance that was unauthorised and now no one knows who runs the CC.

This is the perfect demonstration of some of the internal disconnect within Green Party that has held us back for many years This soft left polite politics might have got us over the threshold in Brighton but it is an approach that absolutely will not work in the north
Caroline Lucas@CarolineLucas

I hope this isn’t true. There are times when it’s more important to put country before party. This is one of them. Burnham’s longstanding commitment to a fairer voting system could transform our democracy & counter dire threat of a Reform UK government theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

@tomedwardsbbchw There are more and more independents that run for local offices who only have the interests of their area at heart. If party politics was left out of it surely we wouldn’t have the disaster that is playing out at county hall and in Westminster? Food for thought…

Notice it's never - should we tax land value annually as they do everywhere else in the western capitalist world . Should we clamp down on trusts to stop tax dodging . Or 'Lord Bamford owes the tax man £500 Million should we make the money grubbing worm pay what he owes. Hardly any one gets £60,000 in benefits :-) unless they're severely disabled and need around the clock care
Jeremy Vine & Daytime on 5@JeremyVineOn5

Is the benefits system too generous? JCB chairman Lord Bamford has warned Britain "can’t get away" with people receiving up to £60,000 a year in benefits, saying soaring welfare costs risk a public ‘revolt’. Is he right? Is the benefits system out of control?

Good morning 🌄 My Redsss ❣️ Our last three games against Nottingham Forest were managed by Ruben , and we ended up dropping points in every single one of them. The first was back in December 2024 when we struggled and ended up with a 3-2 loss at Old Trafford. Few months after the heartbreak, we faced them again at the City Ground and ended up once again with a 1-0 defeat. As if that wasn't enough, we met again on the first day of November 2025 and went on to drop points again in a 2-2 draw. Well, that was then. We meet them again at Old Trafford under Michael Carrick, and this time around we'll remind them exactly who owns the theater. Forest have had their fun, but with the way we are playing now, the patterns of the past are about to get shattered. Are we going to clear the slate with a dominant win, or will Forest find a way to be a thorn in our side yet again? ? 🤔😉😂💪🏻🔥❤️👹 #MUFC #Twitter @geraintfrazer20 @1957eddie @vincentmelinn @Roli_Mufc @suky01 @MUFC270362 @PadraicToolan @nicnoc311 @manufcnow @Indinlily @peterbroggs @DAVIDMUGGLE1 @MUFCLinus @GillianYorke1  @AkashPaul4 @DNyeko @jamesaltham4 @barbarajain @ronak_manutd

Also does no one remember when Andy Burnham contested Jeremy Corbyn for leader as like the less radical option? He was an active participant in steering Labour away from socialism, why on earth should Greens trust him and stand aside for him????

Good morning 🌄 My Redsss ❣️ I'm sorry to ask, but what exact style of play is truly sustainable in the Premier League? I see a lot of United fans saying the Carrick style of play only gives instant results and is not sustainable in the long term. There is this fear that we are just riding another wave of "new manager bounce" that eventually crashes once teams figure us out. But when you actually watch how the team has evolved since January, it’s not just about the scoreline. We’ve seen a shift toward a more balanced, tactical discipline that was missing for years and not writing off Amorin for his work either. The concern about sustainability usually comes from the idea that we rely too much on moments of individual brilliance or counter-attacks. However, the modern Premier League is moving toward more flexible, vertical systems. Carrick’s approach seems to be about control and knowing when to hit teams, rather than just keeping possession for the sake of it. It’s a style that actually suits the DNA of the club, moving the ball quickly and trusting the attackers to make decisions. If the foundation is built on a solid structure and clear roles for every player, that is usually what lasts. The transition from 7th to 3rd shows that there is a method to the play that goes beyond just "luck" or "emotion." All that is left is for him to prove it over a full season with his own signings in the door. 🙏🏻👍🏻💪🏻❤️👹 #UTFR #GGMU #MUFC #Twitter @geraintfrazer20 @1957eddie @vincentmelinn @Roli_Mufc @suky01 @MUFC270362 @nicnoc311 @PadraicToolan @manufcnow @Indinlily @peterbroggs @DAVIDMUGGLE1 @MUFCLinus @GillianYorke1  @AkashPaul4 @DNyeko @jamesaltham4 @javedjalal42 @ronak_manutd

@McquistanColin @kevinhollinrake @Conservatives Thanks to the cluster f**k of county councillors from previous years I have to pay 9% extra council tax this year for zero improvements only to bail them out. Angry in Worcestershire isn’t an understatement. Local government should be cleared of party politics.

Politics is not a game. We are working hard to build a serious, united Conservative Party people can trust - built on honesty and responsibility. These values have to mean something and that is why we have taken the decision to suspend Councillor Adam Kent.   The Party's position was clear from the start. I was very clear we did not approve of the arrangement with the Greens at Worcestershire Council and it did not have our support. Councillor Kent agreed. That should have been communicated clearly and unambiguously to his colleagues.    He told the national Party that he would not do a deal with the Greens. Then he went ahead and put together a rainbow coalition involving Green councillors anyway.   Worse, his group was told something that was not true. Fellow Conservative councillors were given the impression that this deal had Party support when it did not.   This was dishonest.   People are tired of politicians treating public office as a game of manoeuvres and tactics, saying one thing while doing another.   We can see the chaos this is bringing to the Labour Party nationally. That is exactly the sort of behaviour that has damaged trust in politics for too long and the party leadership under Kemi Badenoch is bringing an end to this nonsense.    We are a team and we are honest with each other.   And as a party we want people to know what we stand for, what we will do and that those representing our Party are honest with their colleagues and with the public.   As soon as we became aware of this, we acted immediately because unlike parties like Reform, we take responsibility for those who represent our Party.    We do not want people in politics who think this sort of conduct is acceptable. Our values are standards, not slogans.   As Party Chairman, I have received a full and firm account of what happened at Worcestershire County Council. Given I was clear that this arrangement was not approved and did not have our support the deal will not now go ahead. That position has been agreed by other Conservative councillors locally.   We are one Party and one team. When someone representing us falls short of our values, we do not hide behind process like Keir Starmer or pretend it has nothing to do with us like Nigel Farage. We act.   That is the truth of why the Conservative Group Leader has been suspended pending investigation.   We are a new Conservative Party under new leadership, built on honesty, responsibility and trust.   The public are tired of politicians saying one thing and doing another. So are we.

@supertanskiii In 1981 Rupert Murdoch had a secret meeting with then PM Thatcher and we never found out what was discussed but the news corp was given a very free reign to print what they liked and buy whoever they wanted. That was the start of media influencing whether people like it or not.

This country is not ruled by politicians. It is ruled by the media. (and billionaires, obviously) Media regulation must become an urgent priority. Without an informed population you cannot have a functioning democracy.

One of the biggest scams ever sold to ordinary people was convincing them that universal healthcare is “impossible” in the richest country in the world. 80+ countries manage to take care of their citizens without bankrupting them over an ambulance ride. Meanwhile people here avoid hospitals because they’re scared of the bill more than the illness itself. And somehow we were taught to accept that like it’s normal. That should make people angry.
