Today we said goodbye to our Miss Feeney! We have loved having her in the class and have learned lots from her ❤️ She threw us a party this afternoon and bought us all a beautiful gift 💕 We will miss her loads but wish her all the very best for the future! @WhinhillPS

We heard from some of our P7s this week as they presented their personal WW2 topics! We heard about womens’ roles in the war, D-Day, evacuation, the Greenock Blitz, Anne Frank and Pearl Harbour! I am so proud of you all and the confidence you have shown 👏🏻 @WhinhillPS

P7 are continuing to learn about Metaskills! This week we focused on integrity and worked in groups to role play how this could be shown in different situations 🎭 @WhinhillPS

A game of “Miss Feeney says” to revise different types of angles! We then used protractors to measure angles accurately as our independent task! @WhinhillPS

We worked in groups to complete a problem solving challenge from the Mathletes committee today! Our strategy was to “reason logically” and all groups were able to communicate and use their dialogic skills to get to the bottom of the problem! @MrsSWhinhill @WhinhillPS

Thank you to Mrs Thomson from Inverclyde Academy who gave us a taster of high school RME today! We went round the stations to give our opinions on moral questions 🗣️📝 Our group work and dialogic skills were really impressive 👏🏻 @WhinhillPS

Miss Feeney has been teaching us samba dancing for the past few weeks in PE! Today we put some of our steps together 💃🕺🏻 Our dances were fab but I’ve been made to promise not to post the videos! 😂 @WhinhillPS

P7 had a great afternoon building their own Anderson Shelters from loose parts! I saw some excellent metaskills on display, including communication, initiative and collaborating! @WhinhillPS

We were learning about influential figures in WW2! We worked in groups to summarise information and made our own Top Trumps style profile to teach our friends! Ask us about some of these influential individuals at home 💬 @WhinhillPS

For #SeachdainNaGàidhlig, some of our lovely GP pupils came to teach us some vocabulary through fun games and activities! We learned about animals and emotions…a great addition to our weekly e-sgoil! @WhinhillPS

As part of our WW2 topic and skills development in art, we used the grid method to create scale drawings of Spitfires! ✍🏻 Thank you Miss Feeney for teaching us this great technique! @WhinhillPS

Miss Feeney taught us about the metaskill of adapting this afternoon! We had a challenge where the rules kept changing and we therefore had to adapt and overcome the problems 🧠 Ask us how we show this skill every day! @WhinhillPS

We had a great morning @InverclydeLibs learning about our book personalities! 📚 We also had a scavenger hunt - finding different books with letters which unlocked a secret message! We even got to choose a book to borrow 🥰 @WhinhillPS

We have displayed our Lucy Newton inspired art and we think it looks fab! You can see the process of line drawings, shading and then adding colour and the skills we have developed throughout! @WhinhillPS

Our Anti-Racism Leaders and Schools of Sanctuary Ambassadors took part in a diversity walk, identifying what we do well and where to go next! We did this last year and we reflected on how important pupil voice is and the differences we made! ❤️ @WhinhillPS
