I utilized the restorative questions with two of my students this morning. Students are back in the classroom learning after a successful conference. As a response to harm, we engage dialogue & make an effort to understand. We respect the inherent worth of each of our students.

One of my MAEd students is documenting the experiences of LGBTQ+ teachers and former teachers. If you know any LGBTQ+ teachers (current or former), please send them this link to a 10-minute survey: bit.ly/TeacherSurveyL…

I have a student with extreme anxiety pushing towards selective mutism. She hasn’t turned in work yet this year, but I’ve done my best to remind her she’s valued and important to me. Today she turned in an incredible piece of writing. My heart is full. It’s been a good day.

My bucket is filled after spending the weekend with these amazing educational leaders. At a time when we hear everything that is wrong with education, their passion is everything that is right!! #EdD11 #EdD12

Calling all Mentors and Coaches: the folks we’re supporting now have never faced this current crisis. They’ve never been so exhausted at the beginning of the school year; confused about what to do next; worried about “what if”. Check in often. U r needed.

When I ask you in an interview to tell me about how you are a culturally responsive educator in your classroom and you’re confused by the question, you will not be getting the job.

I'm comfortable giving the student who needed 4 attempts to master a skill the same grade as the student who only needed 1 attempt. 'If' a student learns is more important to me than 'when.'
