@Snotlady5 Its so hard! Son will be almost 17 nxt yr but have 9 yr old girl too! 'forced family fun' is essential for us to bond. Considering Universal Florida, Norway cruise or maybe mountain holiday - outdoorsy things? The age gap is an added challenge! May be last time though sadly 😔

As we bring our family holiday to an end this is our 2nd holiday away where just 1/3 seemed to enjoy it. I look back at photos from 8 yrs ago & they all loved it but now my eldest won’t even go in the sea (almost 16). Is it worth doing anymore holidays? I’m trying to be upbeat!

@SchoolsWeek Let school have more freedom over what is taught and how... a flex approach, making sure unmet need is met, smaller classes, more SEN training for staff for starters... address the root cause not the behaviour. Practice UPR, remember bahaviour is communication of need!!

Just a thought: How much time could be saved if children didn't have to write out the learning objective or question?

IT’S HERE! The Writing Framework has landed! 🚨 IT’S A BELTER! A powerful blend of explanation and practical advice for teaching writing, both transcription and composition. “The best moments during writing are when pupils are so absorbed in their creations that they lose all sense of time, and when they read what they have written and experience the thrill of creating with words and language.” Explicit instruction, direct deliberate teaching and knowledge pupils need to write with confidence and purpose. It must be TAUGHT not CAUGHT! Writing matters because it cements learning in long term memory. A MUST, MUST read if you want to be a better teacher of writing. A thread 🧵 gov.uk/government/pub…

@Headteacherchat Worked in both.... i would say both are equally challegning and demanding in differrnt ways from workload, marking, pastoral duties, SLT support structures blah blah... there are more opportunities for promotion and more money available for reaoinsibikities in secondary

Anonymous Post – Looking for Advice Our MAT has been focusing heavily on equity lately, which has sparked some important conversations. I’m wondering—where might inequities exist across phases, particularly between primary and secondary?

Anonymous post: My priority for next term is behaviour—specifically, establishing a robust policy and ensuring staff are well-equipped through effective training. • Does anyone have advice, strategies, or approaches that have worked well in your setting? • Any pitfalls to avoid when implementing a new behaviour policy or rolling out training? I’d welcome practical insights or examples from colleagues who’ve tackled similar priorities.

@Headteacherchat 4.Remeber every tiny consistent change is a big step towards policy change- build reflection time into slt meetings to capture progress- hard to see in the thick of it 5. Your prioty is a culture shift not a strategy- every positive interaction is success towards that goal
