I find results days quite ‘triggering’. As a HoD, I’ve celebrated statistically excellent results and sobbed for hours and lost sleep over results that led a governor to say we’d ‘ruined lives’. As a Mum of a daughter soon to receive GCSE results, perspective is everything 1/

The grade advancement/diploma points are LOUD! We’ve reduced ‘education’ to a grade when it’s so much more than that. In the process we sideline and look down on those who may not have had a ‘formal’ education but actually are far more educated than most. #EducationMatters

Thanks, @patrickmlarkin for posting this from my and Katy's book! Often the issue isn't the absence of equity efforts, but the fact that what passes for "equity" is usually high-optics and low-impact DEI stuff. Not surprising when optics are rewarded and real impact is punished.
