What do you do when ADHD paralysis sets in hard? Asking for a… friend. #askADHD
English

@rlawsum @Prof_Flowers And related arts/elective teachers may not have those opportunities at all
English

@Prof_Flowers I agree with the first and last, but for the middle I don’t think there’s equitable access to those positions. They don’t exist at all schools and even when they do getting the role can be so reliant on politics and favoritism.
English

@rhymes_melody @sage_stage Basically because waiting their turn in a supervised classroom is better than waiting their turn in an unsupervised hallway or restroom. They're waiting their turn either way but one way maintains safety and order better.
English

@sage_stage Why can’t a kid go to the bathroom when they have to go? Are we talking high school?
English

@kate_freedomer @sage_stage Yeah that feels like a problem with no good solution!!
English

@sage_stage @myweirdthought and kids who have purely good intentions will end up getting pulled into problems. Sending one at a time protects the kids.
English

@myweirdthought Then what? I've never had a physical fight while on bathroom duty, but even with a line of 5 people there's been drama and arguments between people who don't think they should have to wait their turn. Add another couple dozen of kids to the line, then what
English

@aimeeu2 @sage_stage DEFINITELY agree that kids should have bathroom access as needed. However allowing only one person at a time from any given class is a reasonable limit to keep things running smoothly.
English

@JayWamsted Oral/Handwritten could definitely work for some things but handwriting is torture for lots of kids with disabilities or neurodiversity.
English

@lolipoplisa28 @peachlemonbee Honestly if my school had a rule like this it might be the last straw on shaving my head. 😄
English

@peachlemonbee Forget about the general ridiculousness of the rule for a moment: How does a chemistry teacher manage this while following lab safety?
I'd be using a clip pony or braid everyday or shave my head 🤷♀️

the ADHD medication shortage really isn't getting talked about enough. There are ways we can accommodate students with ADHD better even when they don't have the support of medication! russellbarkley.org/factsheets/ADH…

@NAEmmanuele That’s about what it takes to do the job really well without sacrificing yourself!

As people may now well know, I have added the name ‘Suzy’ to my names.
So going forward I am preferring Suzy but I don’t mind Eddie.
And I prefer she/her but I don’t mind he/him.
So no one can really get it wrong unless they call me Kenneth or Sabrina.
I am remaining Eddie Izzard in public.
Thank you.
Suzy/Eddie.

English

@ChristieNold @heymrsbond That feels extremely consistent with my own experience.
English

@LearningKate It’s terrible and wonderful at the same time that you left them on a cliff hanger. 😂
English

Amazing! ❤️❤️

9 yr old runs out of her work space sobbing I run to check for injury, ask what’s wrong “That was our last immersive adventure! It was such a cliffhanger! I won’t have another on until 5th grade!” I guess she’s definitely invested in learning @LearningKate @HCSFLEx @MrLewisVB
