BOOM - four bipartisan bills that would significantly expand North Carolina's housing supply just dropped today in the state legislature. These are very interesting, and will be very controversial in some quarters. But taken together, they demonstrate a growing consensus that North Carolina's housing crisis needs to be taken seriously, and that it's time to act. Credit is due to Senators @TimMoffitt (R) and @MayfieldforNC (D) for working together to craft all four of these bills: 1️⃣: Senate Bill 497 would expand missing middle housing statewide by allowing denser housing formats (up to 6-plexes or townhouses) in any area currently zoned for single-family houses. ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/202… 2️⃣: Senate Bill 499 would allow housing development by right in any area currently zoned only for commercial, office or retail use. ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/202… 3️⃣: Senate Bill 495 would permit accessory dwelling units (ADUs) statewide, and prohibit local gov'ts from blocking them. ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/202… 4️⃣: Senate Bill 492 would allow single-stair apartment construction up to 8 stories. ncleg.gov/BillLookUp/202… The NIMBY lobby is going to fight these pretty hard in the legislature. But support is growing to expand housing in North Carolina. Let's do it. 🏘️

So ALL the other quantitative AP classes get @desmos on their exams but not stat because it doesn’t do like 10% of the content and we can’t even use it for the 90% of stuff it does do?!? BOOOOOOO
