My teachers had us using the Purdue OWL in high school. I knew about it before I knew about anything else at Purdue…Not engineering not computer science not Agriculture—My first introduction to this university was through its English department. Now it’s fighting for funding

Today we said goodbye to dear John Proctor. Special thanks to Mr. Harris for being a great dead Puritan for us! The students wrote amazing eulogies and elegies highlighting the themes and true message of the Crucible. Arthur Miller would have been proud!

The *administration* says they only take 2-10% of class time, not the Board.
I have made my concerns known publicly about this. I understand the value of checking in w/ students' learning, but I maintain that flexibility needs to be at the heart of a teacher's own assessment.

Take care of yourself first so you can be well enough to take care of your students. We too often say nothing about our struggles; as a result, we feel we must carry that weight like a secret. To teach well, we must BE well. Keep an eye on each other (and the kids, of course)!

I am extremely concerned about the pace at which we are still trying to get back to normal in schools. We are in crisis. We still can't breathe. And resilience nor 5min check ins will address this. Healing can't be rushed. We need to truly listen, pause and regroup. @ShaneSafir
