Here is a sad update from Elsa’s dad, Kevin:
We are heartbroken to share news about Elsa.
This morning, she woke up with a drooping face and seemed confused. Adrienne took her to the children’s ER, where we were told that her leukemia has spread to her brain. The doctors said there is not much more they can do other than keep her comfortable.
She received platelets today and is now back home with us, where she should be. Right now, we are focusing on loving her, keeping her comfortable, and cherishing every moment we have together. The doctors believe her time may be very short, possibly around a week.
Please keep Elsa and our family in your thoughts and prayers. We are truly thankful for all the love and support you have shown us throughout this journey.

Due to a severe lack of funds, we are no longer able to continue operating Second Chances Animal Sanctuary as we have been. This decision has not been made lightly, and it comes after exhausting every possible option. Please know that the animals currently in our care will continue to be loved, cared for, and supported until we find them safe and suitable forever homes. They remain our absolute priority. However, it breaks my heart to say that we are no longer able to take in any more animals in need. Thank you to everyone who has supported us, believed in us, and stood by us. (If a miracle happens, I will absolutely let you know straight away). Your kindness has meant everything—not just to me, but to every animal we’ve been able to help. This isn’t how I ever wanted things to end, but right now, it’s the reality we are facing 💔" They currently have 16 dogs. These guys take in the large breed dogs that many rescues shy away from. Please remember there are always dogs in the background that aren't ready to be rehomed yet. The continuing saga of my tooth continues on.
Some of you may know since my brain tumour op I’ve had problems with my teeth and gums.
Since I’ve had root canal treatment I have had 4 abscesses in 14 months. I wanted it extracted but no-one will do it due to my meds as a result of having no pituitary.
So I’ve taken advice and tomorrow I’m off to see a root canal specialist for retreatment.
If he can help then wonderful if not it’s into hospital with sedation.

Beautiful, brave, amazing Barbara, lost her 4 year battle against the evil that is cancer, on Saturday 7 February.
We are devastated and heartbroken by our loss. Her bravery and determination even during the last few weeks has been incredible.
