Teaching is the profession that makes all other professions possible – give teachers a raise.

There are so many exciting things for our members to enjoy at the 2023 NJEA Convention. Here are a few favorites! We'd also like to uplift and introduce this year's Convention charity, Mudgirls Studios! Learn more about them at mudgirlsstudios.org. #WEareNJEA

4. Join your local association & get involved. (In NJ consider local/county/state/national) 5. Cultivate your PLN with folks who help you grow. 6. However you can, schedule time for your loved ones & activities that recharge you. 7. Welcome those who come into your classroom.

1. Relationships over rules. 2. Check yourself on the assumptions you make about your students. Their lived experiences may be unimaginable to you. 3. You’re going to make a lot of mistakes. That’s part of learning as an educator. Don’t beat yourself up—just keep at it.

@heymrsbond Hi! I’m Anna. I don’t tweet as much as I used to, but I have learned an awful lot from following educators around the US.

Teachers should not have to spend their own money on school supplies or other things for their students, but 94% of us do. And to add insult to injury, we can only write off up to $300 on our taxes because we all know it’s the educators who take advantage of the tax system.

And that’s a wrap on my first ISTE conference! Walking away with tons of ideas about ways to bring that #bigPDenergy to NJEA members!
