Welcome to the world my little mathematician aviator. We practiced calculus last night and quickly moving into differential equations. 🤣🤣 Daddy taught him how to fly this morning. Man, they grow up fast.

@SteveWyborney This is amazing - thank you! As a math coach, I have been providing some asynchronous Esti-Mystery video lessons for my K-2 crew. They've been a hit! I've also invited students to submit their own pictures and created some from there. Invaluable!

I've received a lot of questions regarding the #BuildingFactFluency companion website so I took it for a 2-minute test drive. There's way too much to share but this video should give you a pretty good idea.

@heidifessenden @TracyZager @krichardsonmath @bstockus @kassiaowedekind When I need to see a performance task (counting, grouping, creating representations, etc.) I ask students to angle their laptop screen or device down so I can see their workspace. This allows you to observe the nuances as they work. I call that camera position "work mode".

#ChoralCounting with gr2 kiddos - they were on the computer in Zoom, I was recording on chart paper with my trusty markers. This is all so challenging & exhausting - and sad at times, but we're trying... Interesting to compare the two diff cohorts noticings

@theresawills @danifryC Trying to plan 3-Act Tasks for remote learning. Anyone have any tips/tricks that they found helpful when they tried it in the spring? Stuck on HOW to give the students the information when they ask for it (Act 2). #3ActTask

@mrsmacgregor206 I like your word! I’m going to give this some thought too. I usually do the one word at the start of the calendar year but this seems like a much better time!

@Dr_Kreisberg I have been saying this since June! So much time wasted on making 3 plans when we could have been training teachers in best practices for remote learning. Aa a parent with an upcoming K, not having her in school breaks my heart but still... safety first.

MA has spent the past 2 months developing 3 different plans & prioritizing in person education during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. Think of how much more prepared we could’ve been for remote teaching if we decided a month ago to just focus on that? TEACHERS’ LIVES ARE IMPORTANT, TOO.

Dr. Fauci tells teachers about reopening schools: "You're going to be part of the experiment of the learning curve of what we need to know." Notes that we currently don't know much about how the virus spreads with children. #AFT20

I shared an asynchronous math share out here on the Aligned blog (same routine as in the webinar if you saw that). Love hearing that Ts are going to try this out. Please share how it works for your Ss, tweaks you make, and ideas you add!

Little sis (entering K) counts out the numbers labeled in each section of egg carton (4-15, would do 1-12 next time); big sis (entering Gr 1) counts total beans in groups of ten #tmwyk

WEBINAR-PREPARING FOR THE NEW NORMAL. 1 in 3 US children has anxiety. Teachers are facing this need w/ little mentalhealth/behavior training & schools get stuck in patterns of reactive behavioral support. Strategies to best support kids with anxiety & trauma will be provided
