@ETFOeducators our school sees the impact of class sizes, lack of support, and diminishing funds more and more each year. Investing in Public Schools means more learning, resources and support for ALL students #BigDifference

When a class inquiry on frog lifecycles turns into an active literacy learning center… how many “flies” can you grab with your sticky frog tongue? This is a center we will revisit for years to come! #LearningInKinder @TVDSBLiteracy

Another fun way to work on blending in our class. Students roll a beginning blend then hop to an ending to make a word. Movement, phonological awareness, and hand-eye coordination! We❤️ a triple- learning opportunity! #FunInKinder

Our sensory play lately! From bug investigations to flower potting.. we’ve got your spring needs covered in room 129! #Kindergarten

Our latest drama Center looks oddly familiar.. the students asked for a mini school! Lots of tiny teachers in the room this week! #FunInKinder

Engaging students in letter learning means sprinkling their interests in, too. Bluey and Spidey made an appearance this week with a fun sensory spin! Students enjoyed finding and matching the letters while using the characters to “help”! #Literacy #LearningThroughPlay

#ToughTraysoftheWeek last week’s tray was all about construction! Some laminated mats, waffle blocks, coloured rice and trucks made this center a week-long hit. Fine motor lovers rejoice!

#ToughTraysOfTheWeek! This week we were inspired by Ramadan. An invitation to build, read, and explore was the theme here! Also a much needed reminder to re-battery my tea lights… 🙃Ramadan Mubarak! 🌙

Everyone loves a good mystery letter activity! SKs challenged themselves with using UFLI strategies to decode and write mystery words, while JKs used their sound wall knowledge to identify and write letters! #FunInKinder @CleardalePS

#SpookySeason Center favourite of this week.. ghost letters! Black light flashlights and some lemon juice letters made for a great literacy activity! Is it ghost magic? Or science!

Last week we practiced our knowledge of consonant and word family blends by playing roll-a-word. Ss roll, decode the word, then decide if it’s a real or nonsense word! #emergingreaders @TVDSBKinder

On Friday, we read A Little Spot of Feelings by Diane Alber (@ArtistDi). We’ve talked about how different colours can depict different feelings, and how sometimes we feel more than one feeling. Then we crafted representations of our own spots! We 🩵 Self Reg/Art integration!

A spin and write activity that our kids ATE. UP. This week! Interactive segmenting and printing sounds made into a turn-taking game. Shared by my wonderful Kindie colleague @kindert90894001 who used it in her class the week prior! #LiteracyInKindergarten

A butterfly sensory and fine motor sorting activity brought to you by leftover dry pasta in our art supply shelf! We used different pasta shapes to represent the different lifecycle stages of a butterfly.

We‘re jumping into our butterfly inquiry full force this week! Our biggest fascination so far has been how they spin into their chrysalis. Next week, we will continue chugging along with wing symmetry and migration! #Inquiry #FunInKinder
