By some miracle, we already have our class list and we have a set of twins separated into our homerooms. I personally do weekly pencil checks where students can earn a prize/save up for bigger prizes if their pencil pouches are neat. It’s worked really well in keeping their materials organized, but my partner teacher doesn’t want to do it. QUESTION: Should I do them for both home rooms so the other twin doesn’t feel left out? It does cost me a bit to keep the cart stocked throughout the year, but I also don’t want one of them to feel left out.

It means so much to teachers like us. 💙 I’m Jennifer, a Special Education teacher in Dallas, TX (Title I campus). This is my 16th year, and I work with young adults ages 18–22 in our Transition program. We focus on real-life skills so my students can live as independently as possible after high school.
