Books 13-17 of 2026, and now into no.18 after a 5km wander with the best wee black dog in the world.

Liverpool Mon/Tues, arrived home 2am this morning & the sporty daughter was up to compete at South Lan Schools xc comp today - love that grit!! 1st to finish for her school, 7th overall in her race & happy to catch up with football friends & running club chums.

Freezing cold #sportsmum duties this morn to kick off my Easter Hols. Cia a bit perturbed not to score yet again...we keep reminding her she's a full back but she does love a blast forward, an opportunistic shot or two and a few cameos in the opposition's box.

Cannot express how proud I am of our football teams. Special mention to our girls who are sitting in 2nd place in their league after today's round. Small school but big talent and an amazing coach!

Smashing birthday weekend for Cia with a day out in Edinburgh yesterday after a friendly in the morning. Not a great scoreline, but she was very chuffed with her 2 assists and the afternoon of sunny shopping/lots of cake made it a great day 😁.

A joy watching Cia play today 🤗. Rubbish photos though because she wss RB first half on other side of pitch, and LB second half...still on other side of pitch 😆.

I don't mind footie mum duties in the sunshine near the seaside - even when it's an early-ish kick off - when there's max game time, a win and a Maccie D's with a new McFlurry to try on the way home 😁.

Book 11 of the year finished and onto no.12 😁.

Another full game in the bag for Cia this morning and what does she do when she gets home? Heads out on her bike 😂 since the pony's too drookit.

It's been sports filled weekend...mostly watching on tv but a few minutes of Cia on the pitch this morn before a vomity lurgy called early time on her endeavours.

A Thursday eve well spent. Glad I remembered about church teas this time 😁.

A little bit of joy overheard today during our Ash Wednesday service as we reflected while music played with the stunning backdrop of St Paul's Basilica on screen. Pupil 1 whispers, "Wow, where do you think that is?" Pupil 2 replies confidently, 'Heaven, of course!' Made my day!

Homemade pancakes 🥞 @StColumbas2016 @ColumbaNursery . Is it any wonder I often reflect that I have the best job in the world? The smell of the pancakes the children are baking is utterly gorgeous! 😁 #lucky.

My gate gaffers are enjoying the sun again this morming. If they're lucky, they'll later reap the benefits of Shrove Tuesday at St Columba's 😁.

Guess who forgot to bake yesterday for today's church tea? Cue 7am choc chip shortbread making 🍪....

Wednesday plans: crack on with reading Book 10, watch more Winter Olympics, write, put a wee dent in this week's weekly target of 20km & sports mum evening taxi duties. Oh and muck out horses in freezing wind/driving rain 🙄🐴. Think I'll get that one out the way first 🥶.

Final ski Sunday ahead of the trip next Saturday ⛷️.

First XC medal for Cia from Strathaven a few weeks ago 🏃‍♀️😁 - she found out today she'd got a team bronze 🥉 at U15s. Not bad for a first proper season!
