The hardest part about being a teacher isn’t the kids. It’s knowing all the things we should be providing for kids to meet their needs but can’t due to a lack of time, space, and resources. It’s watching vulnerable kids slip through the cracks of a broken system. #OntEd

@matt_vanswol I just googled and learned that in Japan, a CT scan with contrast medium would cost about $230 and they actually pay 10 to 30% because the rest is covered by universal health care plan. So, it means about $23 to $70 from your pocket. Oh boy.

A few weeks ago my wife went to the hospital for stomach pain. They did a CT Scan of her abdomen and thankfully didn't find anything serious. Today we got the bill in the mail: $9,117.42 Healthcare is broken.

@Jgs_90 @farwell_WR The bus company decides if the buses will be cancelled. The school board decides if schools will close. Parents decide whether they send their kids. We were open, teachers and other staff were at school.

This is the forecast we use to cancel school buses in Waterloo Region.

@andreamoffat @ESL_fairy Not true. Catholic schools get the same funding as public schools, plus $ from the church. Each neighborhood is different, but catholic school also has the ability to ship out kids who cause problems, whereas public schools have to take everyone.

Any #OntEd school boards with declining enrolment should be doing exit interviews with families who are switching to private, homeschooling, etc, to find out WHY they are leaving. We need to be willing to humbly listen to the answers and act on them. kitchener.ctvnews.ca/wrdsb-parents-…
