Busy few weeks for our Advanced Higher Modern Studies pupils - first visiting HMP Greenock and today Falkirk Sheriff Court @LHS_Humanities

We also were visited by our lovely ex-pupils Molly and Rebekah who started their LLB this year. Thanks to @MrsJones2020 for telling us about her fantastic NPA Legal Studies course and @MrLlewellynMS for providing a session on UCAS and the application process.

Today we welcomed John Mulholland (Marshall Wilson), Lynn Swan (MTM Defence) and legal trainee Michal Polaski to speak to pupils interested in a career in Law. Invaluable advice about applications, routes into Law and different career pathways. @LHSJourneys

Well done to the lovely Eva Collister for getting the highest mark in Scotland for Advanced Higher Modern Studies last year! Very well deserved! @LHS_Humanities

Said goodbye to my lovely S3 class on Friday as they head off to their different Mods and @LHS_Humanities classes and teachers - good luck with S4 everyone!

Thanks to Falkirk Sheriff Court for having our Advanced Higher Modern Studies pupils visit today. We observed summary and jury trials, toured the cells and discussed sentencing, youth crime and careers in Law with Sheriff Sutherland @LHS_Humanities @LHSJourneys @SCTScourtstribs

Also very impressed to see an @S3LHSYT pupil absolutely smashing it on work experience at Parliament with an elected member!

A brilliant trip with Higher Politics and @Mrscarsonmods Advanced Higher Modern Studies pupils to @EdinburghUni library, the @ScotParl to see @ScotGovFM in FMQs and lucky enough to be able to enjoy some scorching Scottish weather ☀️

S2 Modern Studies have been learning about the NHS as part of their UK vs USA unit, finding out about the work it does, the variety of jobs available and thinking of ways to solve the problems it is facing. @LHS_Humanities @LHSJourneys
