A tax barrister sued me personally for £8m for libel after we linked him to a tax avoidance scheme. Today the High Court struck out the claim, granted summary judgment, and ruled it was a SLAPP. The judgment is highly critical.

If you want to send a thank-you card to Michelle or to Tess White MSP - neither are standing again in May - the next week or so, before Holyrood rises, is the time to do it. I *think* all the others I'd think of here are standing again, but please correct me below if I'm wrong.

We will miss @MichelleThomson very much in the next parliament. She has been a principled, clear, focused and brave voice for women. Her interrogation of two Perm Secs over three sessions in the past year or so has been faultless. I wish I could say the same about them.

In 1901, a woman solved the biggest problem in electrical engineering. But the Royal Society wouldn't let her present her own paper. A man read her words while she sat in silence. Then they rejected her as a Fellow because she was married. Then she invented a device that saved soldiers choking on poison gas in WWI. The War Office laughed at her. Then they ordered 104,000 of them. Her name was Hertha Ayrton. She held 26 patents. She was the first woman in the IEE. And most people have never heard her name.... (I share stories of women daily)

Consul General attended the final meeting of the Cross-Party Group (CPG) on India at the Scottish Parliament @ScotParl, before the elections. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all CPG members for their support in the last five years. A special thanks to Convenor Ms. Pam Gosal MSP @PamGosalMSP for her leadership and vision. The CPG has been a vital platform for strengthening India-Scotland ties. It has promoted trade, cultural and educational exchanges between the two sides. The Group has played a key role in facilitating events, meetings, exchanges, and successful visits, deepening ties on both sides. We look forward to carrying this spirit of partnership into the future and continuing to grow the India–Scotland bond.

Analysis by Channel 4 News has identified emails within the latest Epstein files that suggest that the mountain of information released by the US Department of Justice could amount to just a fraction of the total - potentially just 2% of the information that the FBI retrieved from Epstein's homes. Epstein survivors have told Channel 4 News that they believe that the Trump administration has failed to meet their request to release all the files.
