Year 2 classes came in today after a visit from a strange creature over night! Wrecked the class room but left a lot of clues as to who it could be. Then we read our new book ‘There’s no Dragon in this story!’ They had such a good time investigating @LiftAnglesey @McAuliffeSteph

@JamieGBarry I like that everyone can earn a prize - not just 💯 as we know - not all can be in 100 of the time due to one reason or another - that maybe out of their control 🙌

We have such a clever site manager. Our amazing attendance leader and I are as excited about our new attendance shop as the children are.

@_jameshatfield_ @JulieLovesFluff I would imagine you are not allowed to gate it for emergency access but a diversion means car after car - tractors rolling through for 2 weeks - the damage or risk of an oil leak etc 🤷‍♀️ They wouldn’t reimburse you - do what you are doing 🙌

@JulieLovesFluff You might want to invest in a gate with a key code just to make it very clear. Works for “gated communities”, why not your own neighborhood.

We live on a private road & split maintenance costs w 7 families. Friday MDOT decided that come Monday they're using our road for a detour while they do construction, which is illegal, it's a private road. We got together & decided to park tractors at each end tmrrw,ROAD CLOSED.

@MissKhan__ Definitely leadership scale - the only difference between them and a deputy is that the deputy HAS to deputise in absence of the head However AH doesn’t - unless written in their contract

Are assistant heads generally paid on the leadership scale or upper scale with potentially added TLRs?

@BeingBoycie Interestingly - I have always had the flu jab and every year got flu! Last year I was unwell to have it and never got round to rebooking - I never got flu 🤷‍♀️ Don’t know what to do this year either?

World Suicide Prevention Day today. While in London I went to see the Missed Birthdays balloons at Westfield A young woman came to ask me if I'd lost someone. She had lost her brother to suicide 2yrs ago. We cried, hugged and talked about Jake and her brother for an hour 💚💛

@jonnybid Oh my it has to be Varjak Paw - I used it as a book study with Year 6 and the writing I got out of it was amazing! It is so rich in vocabulary and language features and is just a good intriguing story adventure 🙌

Currently writing a short article about my favourite books to read with a class. The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane and The Outlaw Varjak Paw are currently fighting it out for the top spot.

Clearing out old rolls of half-used wallpaper has prompted the memories of ‘backing your book’ as first homework of the year. Why? 🤷‍♀️ What the f was that all about? And when did it stop - never did it as a teacher, but suffered it every year as a pupil!

I was criticised once for the word class cards - perhaps chose 3-5 at a time and make them a focus for the week / fortnight rather than them becoming wallpaper! 🤷‍♀️ just a thought

Today I was sat marking and a child popped in at break and said, ‘ I am super happy right now.’ I should have told them to go outside but instead said, ‘ I am too.’ And I meant it. I’ve been a wobbly jelly. They smiled. I did. The world carried on despite a slight rule break.
